The same way Cat and Griz basketball games are on there and the same way all other Big Sky football games (aside from Cat and Griz) were on there. MSU will stick a couple cameras on top of the stadium to film it and use the radio audio to go along with it.Eastcoastgriz wrote:Can someone explain how the game can be on BigSkyTV.org. if they dont have a TV feed to pick up??gman wrote:Oh how I wish I could. I didn't have an extra $1600.00 laying around to splurge, especially this time of year. I am grateful for being able to catch the game on BigSkyTV.

Just another good reason this game should have been in Greenville. Saturdays forecast is Sunny with a high of 65. Regardless of who you're pulling for you would like to see games like these played in decent weather conditions.crazycat wrote:Don't mean to nitpick, but Boone is at 3,332. Not 4,000. Personally, I tend to believe you have a better team on paper. But like it or not the weather (not just the temps, but rain/snow, field conditions) can be a big factor in a football game. I don't doubt that your team has had to deal with the elements at all.gman wrote:The altitude absolutely will not bother us. We play every other year in Boone, which is 4,000 above sea level. We have lost a few games there because of a few mistakes and because they were better than us. It had nothing to do with altitude or cold weather. The game temperature last year in the playoffs was around 25 degrees. The forecast is for a high of around freezing this Saturday. We have played games in Greenville where is has been colder than that. Heck, we played a game here in a snowstorm several years ago. Weather and altitude will be a non factor in this game. Bottom line, you guys need to stop thinking about this being a factor and worry about our defense and the fact that our team is finally healthy. I have said for the last few weeks that I would hate to be the first team to play us in the playoffs with our team healthy. It should be a great game. I can hardly wait.
I'm just saying this is the way it's going to be: Cold (20-30 degrees, wet, possibly windy, and 4,800 ft.). You're not using it as an excuse now, so I don't want to hear it as one later.

I was talking to some Doctors who were at a conference covering altitude sickness. They said it is odd....some people don't suffer from it at all, and athletic fitness is no predictor at all as to whether or not someone will suffer from altitude sickness. Some people just get it and suffer from it...and some people don't. Almost everyone loses symptoms after a week at elevation.
The people who are least likely to suffer from altitude sickness are people who grew up at high elevation. Most of those seem to be able to live low elevation and return to the high elevation and not suffer as often as others.
So if you take 20 or 30 people....a football team.....it stands to reason that some of them will not be able to perform at the levels that they are used to. I have no idea what the average percentage of people who suffer from altitude sickness.
