On the defensive side of the ball:
We need to get good push from the ends to contain the outside lanes. Our LB's will fill in just fine. We have shown that we can handle big backs with a gang tackling approach. One on one is not what we do best. Swarm to the ball and watch for cut back lane running. I would blitz the QB as much as possible-- with delay blitz's. Watch for the draw and screen when they drop back.
On the offensive side of the ball:
Quick off tackle dives and counters off the guards to soften up the center of the defense with Taito and Mason. Mason will find a cut back lane.
Rolovich will start and we need to roll him out to the right and throw some 10 yard TE slants.
Jefferson down the middle all day long-- nothing across the middle with him. All sideline's all day. Make him sweat and make the DB get lazy. Then, a 3 step drop on a corner post and TD!!! ALL day long. The defense will not be able to drop back because we are going to hit the gut strong and for 3-5 yards a carry. As they come forward-- roll out--- and then the long ball.
Defense will win it...but out offense has got to make them sweat and breathe in the cool thin air.

Blitzing won't do much good. If Gray is playing we'll only attempt maybe 15 passes. Besides, he's 230 lbs. You'll need to bring a few.catsrback76 wrote:On the defensive side of the ball:

If you get behind and can't establish a running game it'll do a lot of good.Paladinfan wrote:Blitzing won't do much good. If Gray is playing we'll only attempt maybe 15 passes. Besides, he's 230 lbs. You'll need to bring a few.catsrback76 wrote:On the defensive side of the ball:

How do you know? Seriously. I'm not saying it can't happen, but who knows if it will or not. Seems kind of arrogant to just state that. It isn't like you run for 300 yds a game. If you do great for your team. What happens if you can't run at all and your quarterback lights us up for 400 yards and four TDs?Paladinfan wrote:The running game will be there. It probably won't break MSU, but it will definitely bend them.

I'm not convinced you won't throw more than 15 times in this game, nontheless the blitzing helps even with the run. If I WERE coach I would do some blitzing. Kramer probably won't.crazycat wrote:If you get behind and can't establish a running game it'll do a lot of good.Paladinfan wrote:Blitzing won't do much good.
