Divaldo Mbunga, a 6-foot-8, 240-pounder, signed with the Montana State Bobcats on the last day of the signing period according to Peninsula Community College (WA) Coach Peter Stewart.
Mbunga, a native of Angola, averaged 13 points and eight rebounds last year for the Pirates. He also visited Portland State.
"He was really impressed by their coaching staff," said Stewart. "Divaldo is man strong with great fundamental footwork. He is just a really hard worker on and off the floor. He carries a 3.7 GPA and he's just a quality kid."
Peninsula will open their season this Friday at the Lower Columbia Tourney

Looks like a good, big kid. Typically, when you get players from Africa, you get the tall lanky player like Manute Bol, or big Al Beye. But this young man looks like he's got some beef to him. Can't wait to see him in the post!
