I thought the NCAA sets ticket prices

Post by rtb » Tue Nov 21, 2006 11:04 am

Tickets at UM are $25 for Gen. Admission and $5 for students
Tickets at MSU are $30 for reserved, $15 for endzone and $7 for students

Anyone know why there is a difference? I thought the NCAA set the prices for the games and they were standard across the board.

I think we were told by a poster with some insight into this last week that the NCAA does not set the ticket prices -- the host schools do.

The NCAA probably doesn't care if only one person shows up for the game -- as long as that one person paid $300,000 for that ticket ... and they get their lion's share.

To cover the bid we had to make to outbid a team with a capacity of 17,000 in their stadium!

Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense.
