As 2304 said, ASU's located in Boone, NC. NW part of the state up in the Appalachian Mountains. Little tiny town, about 14,000 people. ASU has somewhere around 15,000 students. Games played in Kidd Brewer Stadium which seats around 17,000. However, they average over 20,000 per game and I've personally seen them cram in 24,000+ (there's a big hill for general admission right in the stadium). Best way to Boone is probably to fly into Charlotte and drive the 2+ hours up the mountains. You could probably also fly into Greensboro, NC or Knoxville, TN. Easier to get flights into Charlotte, as it's a US Air hub.gtapp wrote:Where is Appalachian State? How would you get there when we play them next weekend?
WyomingGriz, 2 main reasons Cat fans should want the Chanticleers to pull a big upset this weekend: (1) a Coastal win gets the Cats another home game and (2) NOBODY wants to travel to Boone to play the Mountaineers. Yes, Coastal beat Furman this year (29-27), but ASU hammered Furman (40-7). Ain't gonna happen, though.
All that being said, let's worry about out matchup against the Mountaineers or the Chants AFTER we take out Furman.
(Just to head everyone off at the pass, a Chanticleer is fancy old-school way of saying rooster. And no, I have no idea what's up with the State of South Carolina and their fascination with chicken mascots.)

Griz will take care of business on their side of the bracket - 1 game at a time. We are not talking about Nooga' for at least 3 weeks.SenorWeezer wrote:CAT-griz rematch for the National Title!!!!
Biggest game of the season is alsways the one you're playing next Saturday. The Griz have to focus that way because they are a big target every week of the season. There is no off week.

Teams from the same conference cannot meet in the first round. So, it would have been a second round matchup between the Griz and 'Cats, if both teams took care of business.vike_king wrote:No one will, regrettably.Egg Salad wrote:The Griz aren't going to sell out this weekend.STREETCAT wrote:Disagree with you here...
