Student-Athletes Offer “Night With the Cats” for Kids

The Montana State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is calling all kids to spend a fun-filled evening of games, crafts, activities, and fun with MSU student-athletes and Champ on Friday, Dec. 1 from 6-10 p.m. at Shroyer Gymnasium. Parents must pre-register their children by Friday, Nov. 27 by calling 994-4221, The night is free of charge and open to children ages 5-12. Space is limited. Parents will need to complete a release form when children are dropped off.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is composed of student-athlete representatives from every athletic team at MSU. The group provides an opportunity for members to voice their concerns on a wide range of issues that are important to all student-athletes. SAAC is involved in many community outreach projects including Toys for Tots and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowling for Kids Sake.

My kids are Junior Huskies here in Washington. It is very fun for them to hang out with the athletes and get a t-shirt. The athletes are gods to my little boys. The men's basketball team just sent my son an autographed birthday card. A few weeks ago they were in the tunnel when the football players were walking out for warm-ups and got to give everybody five. On Friday they are having a pizza party with the volleyball team before a match. We totally plan our schedule around the Junior Husky events. Does MSU have a program like this? We would defiantely pay a little to sign-up our kids to be Junior Bobcats as well. It is a great community outreach program and the athletes seem to enjoy it, too.
