I personally thought Binfords recruiting class last year, was solid but not outstanding by any means. There were a couple standouts, and then a group of midland recruits. So far this year with the anouncement of these two athletes she has hit two for two out of the park. With a third player to be announced soon I really am excited to see how she follows this up.

Montana State’s Binford Inks Two Washington Standouts
MSU Bobcats Women's Basketball News : 2006-11-09 : Bozeman, Mont.
By Tom Schulz
Sarah Strand, a 6-1 forward from Seattle, and Lyndi Seidensticker, a 6-foot guard from Spokane, both inked with the Bobcats during the early fall signing period.
Strand has led King’s High School to consecutive Washington State 2A championships. Strand averaged around 11 points and six rebounds as a junior and has helped the Knights to a 76-7 overall record the past three seasons.
“Sarah Strand is a good fit for Montana State University,” Binford said. “She can get up and down the court very well. She also can play inside, as well as hit the three-pointer. Sarah is a versatile athlete that will do great in our up-tempo style. In addition, she’s an outstanding person and student.”
A 2006 Cascade Conference first-team selection, Strand averaged 13 points and was the second leading scorer on her 2005 state title team. Besides basketball, Strand also lettered in golf, cross country and track and field. Off the court, she is a three-time honor roll student.
“Sarah has great instincts and will give us a lot of options,” Binford added.
She is the daughter of Roger and Anne Strand.
Seidensticker, who prepped at Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, averaged 10 points per game, while shooting 42 percent from three-pointer range as a junior. A four-year letterwinner, she led the Tigers to a first place state finish as a junior and a third place showing during her sophomore campaign.
In all, Lewis and Clark has recorded a 78-12 mark during her tenure with the Tigers. Seidensticker notched 10 points and three steals in the Tigers 4A state championship game, as LCHS finished the season with a 25-4 record.
“Lyndi is another great signing for our program,” Binford said. “She has a good understanding for the game. Lyndi is an outstanding passer and slasher, and is good in the open court. She is also a strong defensive player, who moves well and can fill the lanes. We’re very excited to have her join our program.”
In addition, Seidensticker lettered three times in tennis and was a 2006 Greater Spokane League All First-Team selection. Off the court, she is an honor roll student with a 3.95 grade-point average.
She is the daughter of Patty and Jeff Seidensticker.
Binford indicated that the MSU women’s program will sign another high school standout this week.

I am really pleased to see Binford recruiting the Northwest again being from Spokane I have seen Lyndi Seidensticker play and I think she will be a great addition to the Lady Cats. The Washington and Oregon area in the 80's was great recruiting for us and I am glad to see this coaching staff has refound the area maybe it is due to the fact they have a former WSU Cougar on staff. Great job coaches!!!

Matt was from the the Hi-Line. He played at KG and Shelby before becoming a Griz.
