NDSU in 2007

Post by WalkOn79 » Mon Oct 30, 2006 1:16 pm

I heard from a reliable source that unless there's a 12th game, this one is all but a dead duck in 07. A&M money game is on instead. So, it sounds like we will have 6 home games again next year. Too bad about the Bison thing though. Would have been a fun train trip.

Kick Fulerton in the nuts, drop UNC from the Sky, and add NDSU...

My opinion.

That is too bad because quite honestly that NDSU game here last year was by far one of the best college football games I have ever seen. It was a great contest with the start of possibly a great rivalry.

I understand the logic, but it really sucks from a fan's perspective. Like torrey said, that game was awesome and I was really looking forward to travelling to Fargo next year. :(

This would really suck if MSU would do this. Granted I know the Bobcats would like the money game with Texas A&M but NDSU came and played the Bobcats in Bozeman back in 2005 and now you possibly won't return a game(or reschedule until 2008).

Im sure your program is in debt too after your jump up (ours from misc stadium stuff). In your situtation do you take the money or play a team just cause they played you?? This isnt high school football. Were not going to just go play a game while we can improve our schedual strength by playing a good 1-a team

Must be a young-en. This WAS a great rivalry when I started going to the games in the 60's. The only one more important in Bobcat-land back then was the Griz.

Another poster talked about schedule strength, playing up to A&M. I would counter that a win on the road in Fargo would impress the voters and selection committee more than a loss at A&M, even if we kept it close. And a win at NDSU would be far more likely.

I wanted this game as well, but we do need 6 home games. I think the NDSU one was scheduled before UNC actually came into our conference so that is why we are having trouble putting that one and the MONEY game in the same year. I would love to create an NDSU rivalry though as both are very solid programs and have very good fan base. Hopefully this game can get done for 2008 hopefully. Minnesota and NDSU could be on the Cat menu that year :)
