threads and Swilly

I don't mean to be critical of Swilly or any other member of this board but....Why does every topic go from what it is intending to be discussed to a shot at Swilly or a slam on Swilly's school, age, maturity, sex, lifestyle, hobby....etc?

Just asking because I have taken a few shots at Swilly over on egriz but I agree with him on over half of his posts. A good ribbing never hurt anybody but a few people over here sure love to pick on Swilly.

It just seems to me that no matter what a thread is about be it football, basket ball, politics, weather, under water basket weaving, whatever their is usually a shot at Swilly. I just am trying to understand WHY?

I see Swilly fuels the fire in most cases but doesn't everybody do that once in a while?

So you have taken shots at him yourself, and that was even on a board where Swilly's sole intention was NOT to be intentionally obnoxious to the entire target audience of the message board (as it clearly is here).

So what part are you struggling to understand again?

Well for one, I think everybody has taken a shot at atleast one person before and I am sure everybody has taken shots from everybody before. Making fun of someone is ok but to bring up Swilly in most threads is kind of rediculous in my opinion. He says some things that make him an easy target but why is it him who somehow manages to get into every thread, I don't mean every damn thread but a lot of them, and gets poked at. I am not trying to be all PC or make this board all goody-tushus. I just want to understand why everybody takes a liking to picking on Swilly so much that he manages to make threads that he never even posts in?

People poking at Swilly is the effect.

I think you just answered your own question with the bolded part. Almost all of the threads where he gets grief he puts himself into with comments of his own first. There are a few threads where he is brought up by others first, but at this point I think it is mainly because due to his frequent posting making him the butt of jokes he has now become a sort of running joke around here. I'm not saying it is good, or should necessarily be common practice, but that is my honest feeling to answer your question.

Swilly is like that annoying kid in junior high who thinks ANY ATTENTION IS GOOD ATTENTION. He completely brings it on himself and you can tell he likes it. BN'ers are just giving him what he wants. We're sweet that way.
