It'll be great to destroy #1 in November to win yet another conference title!!

You guys always accuse us of saying a tie is a win. Just using your logic.tampa_griz wrote:Win another conference title? Definition please....WalkOn79 wrote:Why wouldn't you think we cared.

Hey d ck head, more than one team wears BLUE. Although I'm a Michigan fan too, so I guess that works.tacoma_griz wrote:indeed. the wolverines are undefeated.....of course, they're no chadron stateWalkOn79 wrote:You guys always accuse us of saying a tie is a win. Looks to me like when we beat PSU this weekend we should move up since they are 8th. Then we will take out Weber at 26 and on up to the GRIZ. What part of winning a conference do you guys not understand. I suppose you have told all your players from tie years that they were not champions.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was three years ago when a large portion of the MSU football team came to watch the Cats play b'ball in Zoo town (Cats lost by the way). There was a player making a huge deal about his Big Sky conference championship ring. Put it on his middle finger and showed it to the fans frequently. Anyways, I asked my friend (plays football) if he got a ring that year since technically they "shared" the title and he told me the Griz don't order rings for winning the Big Sky. It painted a clear picture of the difference between the two programs.tetoncat wrote:Looks to me like when we beat PSU this weekend we should move up since they are 8th. One of the players from the 01 championship team was there, but he didn't wear his ring. Apparently he was comfortable enough with his accomplishment to where it didn't warrant the bling.
Side note: Griz won the next year in Wah Griz big time and went on to the 2004 Chipper, so any time the Cat football team wants to show off their conference rings in Missoula please do. I think it might be lucky.....for the Griz.

CORRECTION..I missled...My friend said nobody ordered a ring that year. It is up to the individual player whether or not he wants to order a ring. This is the accurate portrayal of what he told me. (It's been 3 years give me a break)

I have heard this argument before and frankly I don't get it. First I will say if someone was using their BSC championship ring to act like BMOC I agree that is dumb. But to say that it is a good thing that the Griz no longer acknowledge the accomplishment of winning or sharing the Big Sky championship anymore is just ludicrous to me. The fact that the Griz have done it so many times in the last two decades isn't a reason to say it doesn't matter and only a National championship does, it is all the more reason to celebrate it and make sure the players understand what a truly special accomplishment they have been a part of. Sorry, like I said it may have been funny at the time to get a BMOC to shut his yap, but the idea of not rewarding and celebrating players that were part of a Big Sky championship doesn't seem like something I would be proud of my program for, but maybe that is just me.Topher wrote: One of the funniest things I have ever seen was three years ago when a large portion of the MSU football team came to watch the Cats play b'ball in Zoo town (Cats lost by the way). It may be ludicrous, but once again, that is a Cat talking. Me being a Griz fan since birth and was 7 the last time we didnt win the BSC, it is etched into my brain that winning the BSC is really not that big of a deal. This is no smack talk or anything like that, but when you win something for the amount of time the Griz have, then that item you win just doesnt have that much value. I actually just learned about 2-3 years ago, when I expanded my sports knowlegde to nation wide instead of just what the Griz were doing, how big of a deal winning your conference actually is.kmax wrote:I have heard this argument before and frankly I don't get it.
