Sick of Griz Anything
Maybe its the late February boredom. Maybe I made a mistake by "reading" the crap on eGriz. Or could it be that Griz fans need to get over themselves. Wait... yes. Griz fans need to get over themselves.
You would be stupid to move to I-A, what confrence would you be invited to? Oh wait, you would be like Notre Dame and independent... Right, that's going to work well. The Pac-10, nope. You have a good thing, so don't screw it up.
Oh, yes, and the poll that mostly picks MSU to finish at the bottom of the confrence in football... YEAH RIGHT!!! This is the first year that it will be all Bobby's recruits. I think that will go well, for the 'Cats fans at least. Remember how well his recruit played at quarterback at the end of last season... that was impressive.
I don't care that you have a bigger stadium. I don't care that you basketball program is doing better than ours. And you know what, bearBAC, I don't care that in about 10 seconds you are going to post a picture of either a naked female or an animal being soddomized. I read recently that some kid in Colorado got arrested for his online posts of guns. You might want to be careful, I think PETA is in the phone book.
But then again, I don't care!!! Get over yourselves!!!

As would the laughter of watching the griz and their fans learn some humility if a move to I-A came to fruition.MaZooLaGriz wrote:Well, at least WE have the basis for a debate about moving to 1-A! Can you imagine the laughter that would surround someone wanting to discuss the Cats's going?

You, bearbac, scats, and swilly must come from the same, chlorine-tainted gene pool.

Yeah, we 13 year olds left the sand box some time ago.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:You act like you're about 13 years old.
When we do go 1-A, what on Earth are you guys going to talk about, and which single game of your season are you going to decide is the "only" game?
Everything is always on its way somewhere.

When you go to I-A, we'll still be here talking about the team we support and we'll be laughing a plenty at your jump to the I-A. Look at the bright side, you'll have Idaho to slap around but that's about it.

I got a first-hand look at this at the Oregon game this past season. I actually felt sorry that so many Griz fans I know came all the way out to Oregon to be treated like a high school team. My feelings of sorrow went away once they ignored/made excuses/forgot the ass kicking that Oregon gave them and returned to their normal, arrogant selves.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:As would the laughter of watching the griz and their fans learn some humility if a move to I-A came to fruition.MaZooLaGriz wrote:Well, at least WE have the basis for a debate about moving to 1-A! I believe the term for what I felt that day is schadenfreude. Those fans, all dressed in the maroon, were SO sure before the game that the Griz would put a scare into Oregon. I invite them to go 1-A. After a few years, they will be Idaho, but w/out the recruiting base, and MSU can take all of the 1-AA athletes.

Malicious satisfaction at the misfortune of the griz and their fans.

The thing about the Oregon game this year was that, at the time we played them, I don't think anyone really thought Oregon was as good of a team as they were. When all was said and done, Oregon probably deserved to go to a BSC bowl game this year. Regardless of whether the Griz ever move up, I don't think anyone expects them to regularly compete with top 10 I-A teams -- sure, there's always going to be some enthusiastic fans who will talk themselves into the idea that we can upset a team like Oregon (or Iowa next year), but I think most of us know better.PapaG wrote:I got a first-hand look at this at the Oregon game this past season. The fact that we can't play with a team like Oregon, though, does not mean we couldn't compete well in a conference like the WAC.

Is that suppose to make me feel bad or something? I'm glad you agree with me, though. I like everything about I-AA football. I-A football operations turn me off and I don't want my team part of it. You can go ahead and try to think of someting to make me feel feel bad, but it's not going to work.MaZooLaGriz wrote:Good news: I don't think you have a thing to worry about!longhorn_22 wrote:I don't want the Cats to ever go I-A.

We gonna get blown out by Iowa next year
But we also gonna make a deep run into the playoffs....
Funny how you say you dont care that we have a bigger stadium and that our basketball team is better than yours but guess what....I dont care that you beat us this year in football.
Maybe the Griz nation will get over themselves once the Cat fans realize that they are not on the level that the Griz are on whether it be football or basketball. Montana is just a better athletic program than Montana State and maybe we wouldnt be so arrogant if Cat fans wouldnt try to convince us that they are as good as us....

The net effect is as follows. On the same field, the Bobcat football program is CLEARLY better than the Griz 3/4 of the past four years.Swilly3224 wrote:We gonna get blown out by Iowa next year

I do realize this but cmon, you know that Montana has a better overall football program than MSU does, I dont see why Cat fans just dont wake up and realize this. We went to the National Championship two years ago while the Cats failed to make the playoffs....yes you beat us 3 outta 4 but that does not make the overall program betterPapaG wrote:The net effect is as follows. This is the crap I'm sick of!!! Can we, on both sides, just STOP rehashing how many wins/ playoff appearances/ National Title fumbles each program has made and MOVE ON!!! In both cases, I am glad that both programs have such diehard fans, and I suppose I count as one, but man, there are bigger things to talk about. Spring Football means the BEGINNING of a NEW SAEASON, so I don't want to talk about how the Griz were in the title game 2 years ago. I am proud of the 'Cats for their previous performances, but we need to move on and look to the future. Both teams have new QBS, both are facing uncertainty, both alumni groups are bored to tears with basketball (look at the number of stupid posts we get on these websites).Posted: Sun Feb 26, 2006 8:28 pm Post subject:

As for being missed at games, its a little hard to make a Thursday game when the demands of a job took you 2,000 miles away.
And I'm spent.
