Serious question for the Cats
After we stomp you a new mudhole on Saturday, will Kramer ever be able to find another D-I coaching job?

Unfortuanately the Cats would not fire Kramer for going 6-5. But we will never know because he will go 7-4 this year and for sure be back again next year.

I hope not.
I am a big cat fan but even I can admit that his play calling is horrible. The cats are loaded with talent and they can't get it done. They are potentially 2 minutes away from being 4 and 7. This team should have dominated this year. Lulay is way to good to be 7-4. Play calls have killed us in every game. how bout last year 1st and goal from the one against EWU for the playoffs in OT. Instead of 4 doses of Lulay sneak up the middle, Bailey runs slow domineck outside loss of 2, then passes incomplete, then slow domineck outside again, then quick pass batted down. C'mon cat fans wouldn't you rather have an effective head coach and o. coordinator.
I'm tired of 6-5, 6-5, 7-4. We have the players.

Answer the question GW. 2nd...why can't we have Bobby H. but have GW and 3rd Force..at CB? doesn't he have some disorder about getting burned at CB? IMO non of your LBs start for the Griz. But, I like to see what people think.
Never mistake activity for accomplishment.

Ha. That is funny. Must be coaching that puts the Griz ahead of the cats year after year. Goves better than Lex, now that is real funny, I've got Mt Dew coming out of my nose on that one.G.W.Bush wrote:On offense alone, I would take every one of our guys over yours with the exception of Lex (Groves will be as good if not better then Lex in the future) and your TE. There you have 9 of 11 just on offense.
How about this, you keep your guys, we'll keep ours and head on into the playoffs and another run at the NC.

I would agree that the Griz O has not been very productive this year. The good thing is they have been efficient, and the D and special teams have picked up the difference- in fact, against the 7 common opponents, The Griz have scored 203 points, and given up 120 points, while MSU has scored 188 points, and given up 207 points. The Griz as a team have outscored the Cats by 15 points (2 per game), while giving up 87 fewer points (12 per game).
Of course non of those stats will mean anything on Saturday, but the fact that the Griz as a team have outscored the Cats as a team was a surprise to me, given how the Griz O has struggled the last 2 games.

Thanks for the great bulletin board material.
Uh, I'd take probably Gatewood, he's a dominant and athletic receiver, very talented. But I think that some of the O Line members for the Griz are better players, and blockers than the cat O line, and Talmage (when healthy) is an amazing WR.
I've heard the cat WRs have had problems dropping passes, considering that having guys like Talmage and Ferriter seem like good bets as well because for the most part those two a very sure handed.

Lulay's a no-brainer.
Gatewood and Talmage is a wash, IMO. Both good leaders, good route-runners, both streaky-dropsy.
Ferriter, Bagley, Troxel, despite their youth, far outshine Murray, Guinn, and... whoever else comprises the rest of the Slippery-Hand Gang.
Groves, at this point, is comparable to our third-string guy, Brady Green. He's had a couple decent games, nothing stellar. Waller is a far better back, not to even mention Hilliard.
O-lines, I'd give the edge to the Griz, but maybe that's just because Lulay squirts out so much and is so mobile that it presents challenges for blocking. Call it even.
On defense, there's Marudas. After having seen him play, I think he'd get time with the Griz, but don't know if he'd take a starting job. It's a pretty deep group we've got.
So yeah, I'm with Jah. You take your guys, and I'll go with ours and enjoy the playoffs.

You are right, the O has been horrible at times. But I'm not so sure that is all players either.G.W.Bush wrote:JahGriz your offense is terrible! I think that Sac State has more offensive firepower then the Griz offense has. We do need a new offensive Coordinator, so it isn't far fetched to say that we get out coached. Right now I think a paper bag would out coach Bailey.
Lulay and Gatwood, maybe Murray would have been nice additions to the Griz this year, if they learn to hold on to the ball, and catch a bit better.
Your Oline wasn't exactly impressive, though at times (against sac) neither was ours.
And MSU has some nice athletes on D too. But to say they would start is a different story.
Plus half the people we would consider are Sr., most of the Griz are not, and that goes for both sides of the ball.
Skilled wise we only loose Waller and Talmage, on O.
D wise we only loose Saenz (huge loss), Spencer, Edwards, Thomas, and MacIntyre. All of which we've won without, and a few of which who wouldn't start next year anyway.
