Papa Bear (As Don Reed is known to many Griz faithful) is back in the fold in Griz
country. Makes you think, though, come around mid November if things are not going
up to Griz standard (quite high might I add) how much pressure does this add to Hauck!
I mean lets face it when things are not going well for a football coach and when you have
someone like Fields or Hogan as your superior it is one kind of pressure, but when you
pull a "lets run the "option offense" in the Bobcat Griz game with less than a quarter to
left move and needing two scores, bone head move thats tough. Really in a discussion
like that between Hauck and Reed you know who the better, smarter coach really is! It is
good to have a mentor but at this point in his carrier a legend has just cast his big shadow
right over this young coach and his program. What do you guy think, I know the hiring
of Don Reed as AD is good news foe UM but is it good news for Hauck?

Imagine how tough it will be just to play call for the Griz this year. Everytime they call a run play, they'll look down at their W.W. D. D. Bracelet (What Would Don Do) and remember that he is watching from above.
Seriously, play calling seemed erratic/schizophrenic last year anyway. (Based on my meagher observations) They tried the run, the pass, and the option vs the Cats, and only the run worked, but they didn't stick with it. Confidence has got to be an issue with any first year Head Coach, but with Papa Bear/The Architect of Air Griz, is watching from the Sky box, the 2nd guessing fairy will a loud voice in Hauck's head.

bearBAC,
let's stick to the topic...
I do feel bad for Huack with Read watching over. Hauck was an assistant under Read and I know that his original philosophy was to bring back "Air Read's" style to Montana. I personally was happy with run and gun Joe Glenn's offensive style, which created kind of a 60-40 balance between pass and ground attack.
Hauck's inexperience hopefully won't plague us again this year. If he learns to utilize the talents of players like Justin Green, Craig Ochs, Levander Segars and Tab Perry (?) watch out!
