Is Kramer THAT good a coach?

Kramer has not had good numbers as far as overall wins and losses but he has done three things that are reasonnably unique to Bobcat football:

1. He is a great embassador for MSU which has resulted in lots of excitment and near sellouts at every game.
2. He has beat the griz three out of four.
3. His teams have been competitive every year (other than his first- 0-11).

I wish his record was 50-10 over the last five years but I am happy with the results nonetheless.

So true. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was the grizzly powerhouse. We are moving in the right direction, and we are continuing to progress each and every year.

Just gotta love the guy, for the following reasons:

1) Honest almost to a fault with the media, players, parents and boosters
2) Travels to the far-reaches of the State promoting Bobcat athletics.
3) Recruits quality citizens for the most part.
4) He was an offensive lineman (Need I say more)
5) Respected by and shows respect for his peers
6) Takes the time to talk to the kids whenever / wherever
7) Cares about his players academically, and on a personal level
8) 4 straight winning seasons, which hasn't happened since Sonny Holland
9) Would prefer Smash Mouth over Air Anything, and will prove it in 2006
10) Most recognized personality in the Big Sky, period
11) Oh Yeah, beat the Griz 3 of the last 4!!

Idaho can have Erickson and the Griz can have Hauck Nose!!

I am glad that you are really excited about Kramer, but honestly your assumptions are a tad off.

I would disagree with #1, 3, 7, and 10.

I am not going to go into details about the following, but let’s be honest Kramer isn’t a saint.

Also, you would be crazy if you would take Kramer over Erickson. Erickson is one of the best college football coaches in the country. His abilities far outreach Kramer’s.

1. Dead on.
3. Does better in this area than most college football HC's.
7. Dead on.
10. Dead on. Do you have anyone else in mind?

Maybe Kramer isn't a Saint, but who is?

Rumor has it, this was after the Griz / Cat game. Kramer was so overjoyed with the win, he decided to flash his man boobs to the student section.

Oddly enough, immediately following the Griz / Cat game, there was a unusually high number of MSU students dropping out of college, digging their eyes out with rusty forks, and / or moving out of the state.... Probably just a coincidence..

Krames can coach. Of that there is no doubt. He was my HS coach, so I feel qualified to say that.

But I think Walkon has gone a little overboard. After reading that, I was thinking maybe Krames should run for Pope.

Maybe not, but is "Sprinkle" really any better?

Weren't you guys wanting Sprinkle to be your head coach during most of last BB season under Durham?

Tinkle is going to do fine too...the Griz have some great recruits & great returning players. Tinkle is actually the guy I hoped would be HC when they picked Coach K, but was still happy to see Coach K as the HC especially since he kept Tinkle as an assistant.

Now, back to the subject of Kramer... Wow the guy in this thread who said that the Bobcats would suprise a lot of people this year, even with losing Lulay hit the nail right on the head with that statement...except I think he meant surprise people in a Good way, not surprise people in a very bad way :(

I'm a logical griz fan. Hauck is a fine special teams coach. He can recruit players very well, he can find the talent. He is NOT a good PR man!! And, I don't really like him as a head coach. He has the winning record because he has done a fine job recruiting good athletes. I really don't think his choices in play calling are the best.

Example: This past week against Sac St., we have a 3rd and 1. The Griz O line is bigger and stronger than Sac's D line and he calls an end around??????? The running back runs 20 yards down the line and loses 2 yards. I'm sure he was thinking "I ran it because I'm sure they wouldn't expect that play" (not a quote, only my thinking)

I guess we will see what he does with the talent we have this year. I sure hope he doesn't waste it, 'cause the Griz have a ton this year!!

Kramer - I think the Cats can do better. you can keep him if want!!
