You'll notice, however, that he continues to refuse to say MSU or Bobcats; I know all you lowly griz fans think that's petty and/or meaningless, but to me it NAILS his mindset. AND I LOVE IT!!! Bobby looks at MSU as THE ENEMY and that is PRECISELY the way I (and a # of others here, methinks) feel about dUMb!

No, the only time I've gotten a little "sideways" with the MHSA was over some football refereeing in Great Falls back in the 90's. It wasn't a big deal, they just sent us out a letter reiterating the broadcasters recommended "code of conduct".

There is a local guy that's been reprimanded several times and was actually banned for awhile by the MHSA but he's with a different station and I don't think he does games anymore. To say this guy was a loose cannon is an insult to loose cannons; he makes Gurns look like Dr. James Dobson!

Broadcasters discussing refs is an interesting topic to me; I've got LOTS of stories. Maybe I'll start a thread one of these days to discuss. I can simply sum it up by stating that there are some refs out there with EXTREMELY THIN SKIN! This one ref I know all too well starts bleeding if you look at him funny!!

And as a PS, I LIKE the Missoula pool of refs, football & basketball; they do a great job. DON'T GET ME STARTED, however, on football in Great Falls or basketball in Helena...

I am from Helena, and I agree that some of the bball refs are pretty bad (others are very good). Do you find a difference on the quality of officiating whether it is at Helena Capital or Helena High?
