No, because it was swilly, they made a big deal out of it. Had it been my friend from Billings, and the kid came home because it sucked, I don't think they would have moved it.

Please see my previous post. Had he posted it with the clear intent of sharing information in either a thread that was talking only about the results of the recruiting trip or in a new thread as such I would have gladly defended him from anyone that decided to turn it to smack. Go back a week, though I took some crap for it from a few Cat fans I have no problem defending a Griz fans comments and calling out Cat fans who turn to trash talking on our main boards.

I actually would love to hear more about the trip and why it was a bust for that player. But in order to keep it from immediately going to trash talk, it would have to be presented with some further information and a better light. Why did he dislike it? What was he expecting that he didn't see? What was so bad that he decided to skip going to the game, aside from just it was raining? Something like that to actually lead to a discussion rather than a known Griz fan (and if you can't admit he likes to stir things up your a hyprocrite for calling us out) coming onto our board and simply saying "my friend tripped there and it completely sucked" (paraphrased) that only serves to make people defensive and start a smack fest back and forth.

Don't you think the terms Pointless and Useless had something to do with it. I agree with the Mods, that if he started a different thread and added some facts about the recruit in question, this could have been a good discussion about what the good and bad of recruiting visits. I for one would like to hear more about what Swilly's friend didn't like about the experience. Maybe there is something to be learned to improve for future recruits.

Well first of all he is a born and raised Griz fan. That didnt help the cause. But I didnt really talk to him much about it, besides the fact that he didnt wanna sit in the rain with his shorts on and watch 1-AA football.

However, I too agree that this kid came in with some preconcieved notions about MSU. Oh well, if the Griz weren't on the top of his list, then he must be looking at some D1-A schools, because we all know UM has the best 1-AA FB program in the country
