tampa_griz wrote:I'm at loss as to who the winner/loser is here. Swilly makes a lot of crude and crass comments but I have to admit I find him entertaining as hell and I admire his spirit.....as sophomoric as it often is. As someone noted over at eGriz he constantly swings for the fences. You have to admit Toddler that his "bangwagon" gaffe alone makes his presence worth while. The Smack Board would be boring without him. It's my personal wish that BN would recruit someone worthy of him for a deathmatch.

Why do his comments get you so riled up? Let it roll off your back and enjoy the laughs. I know I do and I have a hunch he is. Just my thoughts.
MSU Toddler wrote:thank you for thinking of my feelings - that is nice.

back to the orginal post: as i said, i'm very glad you are not a Cat fan since i would be ashamed of what you are doing on here and the way you conduct yourself. if talking about that is personal, then unfortunately you have done that to yourself. again, best of luck with your approach on this and life....
I've changed my mind. Swilly owns you Toddler. You've managed to let a kid get the best of you. He baits you every time and you take it. He goes after the Cats and you in turn go after him. Nearly every one of your posts on this board talks about the lack of "class". "Swilly's a fool!" "Swilly's immature!" "I don't care about your family history Swilly!" "You're on a bandwagon, "bangwagon", Swilly!". You really oughtta read your own manifestos Toddler.

You claim to be a life-long Cat fan and supporter. No matter how terrible a season gets you'll always be a Cat fan you say. Yet nearly every one of your rants here are directed at non other than.................Swilly........and other "classless" posts. The only recent post I can find of yours on the regular Cat Athletics board is how buying a FTG sticker is "classless". Who made you the class police anyway? I personally think it's funny. Nothing wrong at all.

Maybe.....as a "die-hard, no-matter-how-hard-the-road-gets, I'm-with-the Cats-all-the-way" fan you consider yourself to be then you could aim some of your amazing Cat enthusiasm at something other than.......Swilly. I've posted more recent Cat-friendly comments than you have. Your sanctimonious sense of class is all you care to discuss.

Grow up Toddler. If a Smack Board is just too darned offensive and classless to you then maybe you should cancel your Internet service. There's even more offensive stuff out there in cyberspace. Trust me.

Finally Toddler, I only posted this to pluck you off the high horse you put yourself on. Don't confuse it with a defense of Swilly. He does a fine job on his own against you.

fair enough tampa.....your point is well taken - a bit beyond the fact (since you are ignorant of all facts), but well taken. i'm here to call a spade a spade and swilly even admitted to being that by saying "you have made a choice about being a MSU fan, and I am here to make you regret that decision".

would these same actions fly on egriz if the roles were reversed?

have my observations been incorrect (please reread my posts)?

have you really read ALL my posts (wow)? i'm sure there are a few in there directed at swilly (see this string). your just a tad off in your assessment in my opinion ("nearly every one of your rants here are directed at non other...").

sorry if you feel i'm policing, just expressing opinion and still believe that saying F&*k The Griz isn't a thing to do (also said to each his own - is that policing or expressing opinion).

tampa - thank you for your advice and helping me understand how the internet works. i'm going to run out and make an immediate change in my life - you have truly knocked me down several notches. c'mon....?

i mean c'mon?

1. He's a kid. If I were you I'd try to have some with him. How can a kid shake your Bobcat faith so much? You take him wayyyyy too seriously. You're attacks on him instead of smacking the Griz or talking up the Cats shows just how far he gets under your skin.

2. You've called Swilly classless. You've called me classless after I posted the Chadron score on the Smack Board. You've called those looking for FTG stickers classless. That's just off the top of my head but I seem to remember one or more "classless" comments. Face it, you've crowned yourself the class king. Maybe, as you said, it could be construed as expressing an opinion.....do you have any other opinions outside of anyone's class?

3. I didn't say I read ALL your posts. See above. You quoted the dictionary a few comments back. Grab a thesaurus and find a synonym in my post for ALL. It does in fact seem to me that you hang out in Smack waiting to call someone classless.

4. "you have made a choice about being a MSU fan, and I am here to make you regret that decision". That's funny. I don't why but it is. I'd laugh if it was reversed toward the Griz. His posts are straight out of a Saturday Night Live character. It's funny.

5. If this type of posting happened over (and it does) at eGriz I'd have fun with it. I wouldn't whine.

6. "(since you are ignorant of all facts)". I'm ignorant of all facts? How CLASSLESS!!!!

gees tampa - sorry to get under your skin........

since you are listing things, let me retort....

1. no faith shaken. he is a kid and has demonstrated that. so what? why is that an issue? STILL wouldn't want him as a fan (back to my original post)

2. do you really think what swilly does is classy as a fan? i think you are 100% correct on one aspect of you assessment (and guess what, i've agreed with you in the past - please read posts). you are right in the fact that i guess i don't get today's smack and should retire from the smack boards. i don't think saying "eat s$%t" (Cat chat), FTG, coming on to regular boards and posting senseless things just to be a jerk are smack. in my book they are not classy. MY OPINION - which i guess is off the norm. i've been a Cat fan going on 30 years now and have dealt with this rivarly for just as long. i've got friends and family who are avid griz fans (and as i've said before - so am i). times are a changing i guess - but everyone is entitled to an opinion and if my several posts pigeon hole me in your eyes - so be it - cause why do i care about you (really)?

3. your quote from above "Yet nearly every one of your rants here are directed at non other than.................Swilly........and other "classless" posts." what does "nearly every one of your posts" imply to you? this tells me you've read nearly everyone of my posts then right? if not, how can you make such a statement? i could say more, but it would be wasted.

4. i agree that some things are funny. i also have seen Cats fans bashed for less on egriz (didn't say it was you - and don't blame griz fans for doing so).

5. see 4 - maybe you would - others wouldn't. get real if you think otherwise.

6. if that is how you define class (drawing assumptions based on ignorance --- look up the word it is fact not a slam), then how can i argue with you? i guess i'm classless in your book. again - oh well (see 2).

feel better?

My last point was an exercise in sarcasm. And yes, I agree that "classy" is the last adjective I'd used to describe most of what Swilly says. Sophomoric, junior-high locker room variety would be more like it. And his "regret" comment wouldn't be funny if it was from anyone else. But because it's him I think it's hilarious. It's hard to explain. I think he reminds me of Cartmen. A total character.

You didn't get understand my skin. If you did I'd have to voice my concern about your eventual path in the world. I would find that discussion beyond the scope of the Bobcat Nation.

All I'm trying to say is to try to take him with a grain of salt. Have fun with him. As long he keeps it on Smack (and for the most part I think he does) and doesn't get in the way of the serious discussions I would just have fun with him. Eventually he'll drop another "bangwagon" gaffe and we'll have a good laugh again.

thus ends my wasted time on the smack boards (good suggestion tampa). i leave with this quote by Wynn Catlin:

"Diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you can find a rock."

for whatever that means......

It feels great to be a Cat EVERYDAY! Especially when one considers the other options in Montana. The day after the Bobcats ended their 16 game losing streak to the griz, I was in the grocery store wearing my MSU sweatshirt and the checker commented "you must be wearing that with pride today".... to which I replied, "I've been wearing it with pride all my life!"

What does being blanked at home have to do with pride in your team? Just because your team loses does not mean you jump off the bandwagon. At least....Cat fans don't. I can only imagine what would happen to the griz fanbase.

Great pride
Main Entry: pride
Pronunciation: 'prId
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English pryde, from prud proud -- more at PROUD
1 : the quality or state of being proud:

It IS great pride... because I'm STILL a CAT fan (and I didn't break my leg jumping off any damn bandwagons. Oh wait, I meant to say bangwagon.

Coincidentally, the dictionary lists pride just a couple of words below another entry you should be all too familiar with....
