I (like most UM alumni) actually do donate. Thus the better facilities.

Thanks for playing.

Yeah, I'm sure your huge monetary donations were integral to the latest expansion of Wash-friz. Give me a break. You are a couple years out of school, I highly doubt you have the dough to make anything resembling a substantial donation. It is great that you donate to your school, but don't fool yourself into thinking that none of us donate to MSU. I have been a booster through the latter half of my undergrad education, something I doubt many people can claim. I wouldn't be foolish enough to claim that my money is going to help with any future expansion projects, though - well, at least not for a while.

I have been fortunate enough to do pretty well for only being a few years out of school. It is pointless to get into a pissing contest on a message board about salary and donations, though. My only point is that you called me out for not donating and that is simply untrue. I donate annually and am also a lifetime member of the alumni association.

I never called you out for not donating money to UM, but I did call you out for pretending that your donations were integral into UM's facilities improvements. I am still in school, and I also donate annually and am a lifetime member of the alumni association. Big deal. I would bet that most people who post on these boards could say the same thing. Which is great, but don't make it out like all UM grads donate money to their school and nobody who graduates from MSU does the same. Hell, I will be a UM grad, and you can bet that the athletic program will never see one stinkin' penny from my pockets. MSU hasn't had the fortune of a high-profile athletic endowment donation (yet), but has gotten some quite substantial donations for academic improvements in recent years. I would say that in the grand scheme of things, those are slightly more important in furthuring educational opportunities for all MSU students than is building a football stadium.

And nowhere did I call into question the relative merits of academic versus athletic donations and endowments. This discussion sucks.

I just wanted to ask about the UM cheerleaders getting lost? The Fieldhouse isn't that big...

When I graduate UM dosn't get a dime when it comes to athletics. The stadium is fine, the basektball court is fine, the weight room on campus is awesome. The University does not need anything more. I HATE seeing stuff in the paper about adding another video tron to the football field. There isn't a bad seat in Washington Grizzly how the he!! could you miss anyting that would require one video screen to begin with? If I ever donate a dime to UM it will be earmarked for parking and parking only. It is rediculous that the powers that be assume the 23,000 hoopleheads that show up on game day don't completely disrupt the balance of the school. Congrads UM you did a great job of creating a unique atmosphere for gameday, now find a way to accomadate these people that dosn't screw your students!!!! There, I smacked my own school (soon to be alma mater). I can proudly say there will never be a fieldhouse, scoreboard, he!! a track hurdle for that matter named after me. THINK PARKING!

I agree with you on the parking. I have often thought that a large, multilevel structure similar (but larger) to the one by the library would work very well at the location of the lot behind PARTV/Law school area. But what do I know

:goodpost:

Reasonable post on the smack talk board alert!

Even though I attend MSU, I can see where you'd be pissed off that more money was going to a new scoreboard than parking, Topher. MSU is in the same situation with parking: there's not enough of it. There was a plan to build a parking garage here, but I'm not sure what happened to it. The first two levels were going to be reserved faculty, then two student levels. MSU is going through an input process for the future and I would bet that these issues would come up.

I guess that UM fans and MSU fans can agree after all.

GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan! :) =D^ \:D/

Excellent!
It's good to see that despite its obvious shortcomings MSU has correctly identified its greatest need........academic improvement.

Parking?? Sure we could use some more but who couldnt? I would rather have a new video screen in the northend zone or expand the west and east sides or put up more stands in the southendzone like they did the north to make the stadium louder! People will get the games no matter where they have to park. If you dont like where you park then get ur lazy ass up and go to games earlier!!!!!
