I have many leatherbound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe uh, diversity is an old wooden ship that was used during the civil war era

For the record, I am flattered that your first post here was directed at me, and also that it hasn't taken you long to figure out that I am, in fact, a big deal.

Why would Billy Idol care if Mony Mony was butchered?
Tommy James and the Shondells wrote the song in 1968.

Kids. :)

I'm just wondering why the band doesn't play more "Jailhouse Rock" and "Smokin' in the Boys' Room" by Motley Crue.

As an aside, since the Billy Idol's name was invoked, I saw him in concert a couple years ago at an acoustic show that was a benefit for a special needs children school. They had a lot of the kids lining the back of the stage for all of the acts.

Along comes Billy Idol's set, which may have been the first acoustic set they had ever done. Mony mony fires up, and we are all wondering to ourselves ... what lyrics will he use?

Sure enough, in between the classic version lines of the lyrics, Billy inserted the popular addendum to the song, "Say say [or is it "hey hey?"] what? Get laid get f****."

I'm guessing that some of the usual smackers would have been outraged, but nobody really seemed to care. I guess it can be argued that if the worst thing that happened to those kids the rest of their lives is that they heard some bad words in a cute little lyric, things turned out pretty well for them, especially considering all they had been through before that.

I actually submitted that as a joke. Someone mailed it to me and said they found it in your dorm room under a bag of marijuana in 1984. Weird

:D
