Man, what I wouldn't give to be as rationale as Celtic Cat. His response to Vince Devlin of the Missoulian, I presume that's who sent the smack in here, was every bit as good, if not better than those "football ignorant Tennessee Hillbillies" that had never heard of the Duuuhhh UMMMM fizzlies and their great program. Thought I'd do a quick check to make sure my facts are correct and by golly, GSU has been in the National Championship game three times since 98, winning two (they had a down period between their third and fourth championships in 89 and 90

Too funny! I love these "you suck" "we rule" posts...Frankly, some truth to the question marks for the Griz in '05, however, we return the full defense and, aside from Ochs (a tough one to replace obviously), we return a large portion of the offense as well...I like our chances! Remember the same arguments against the Griz in '03 and we were co-champs and playoff bound again...wbtfg wrote:You quoted some stats earlier in this thread, I would love to hear the stats for the next few questions.....DaddyGriz wrote:wbtfg: I just realized I'm arguing with someone with no f-ball knowledge. My bad for falling into that trap. You better check the roster again junior.
You are way off. Keep dreaming or keep smoking. An oh by the way, Bobby's recruiting class was outstanding. 8-10 1A caliber players, and a number of big-time drop downs, inlcuding two more this week.... a starting tackle from Idaho and the third leading reciever from UW last year. You guys have been saying "no way the Griz win the conference again" for 10 years! We'll dominate......as always!
Again, what a joke!
Grad: I was trying to be nice, but bottom line....the cat program is a joke! JC or not, you know it
How many yards passing do your returning quarterbacks have?
How many receptions do your returning tight ends have?
How many receptions do your retruning receivers have (excluding talmage)?
Big time drop downs?? Are they as big time as Ronnie Rodamer was last year? 8-10 I-A caliber recruits? USC might as well just give the sears trophy to you guys.
BTW: You never answered my origional question. What year did you graduate from UM, and what is your degree in?
UM Class of '89, History/Political Science, 8 MSU employees working for me...

Every year, the Griz are the favorite to win the BSC and compete for a NC. They are the perrenial powerhouse, and you know it. That's like picking Duke to finish last in the ACC. What a joke! At least come at me with something that makes sense.
I'd hate to say it to ya but even duke finished last in the acc one year - the year when cheorkee parks of all people was their leading scorer. well it can be last i know it was at the bottom of the acc and they did not qualify for the ncaa's. as for your quarterbacking situation id take luley and 5 ymca'ers over whoever starts for the griz and 5 all stars at wide any day of the week - nothing beats experience at quarterback. it makes me shudder what the luley of today could have done with the supporting cast of his freshmen year...johnson, turnquist, adams, wolf...and ect

Yet again, another well put response to an arrogant old man's babbling. I however, do have a problem with the institution, the football team, and the tradition. FTG!CelticCat wrote:It's so easy to look down your nose at someone you hate, isn't it Daddy. Years of worshipping the ground that 20 year old kids play football on, and you think you were somehow part of the last 20 years of Griz football greatness, so you think that gives you the right to push down anyone you want. How old are you anyway, I would hope for some more maturity later in life. If you still get your kicks off talking smack and getting people worked up, you need to grow up. I remember a lot of that kind of behavior, it was called high school.
It is precisely fans like yourself that make it impossible for me to root for the Griz. I have no problem with the institution, the football team, the tradition. I cannot stand the fans. They are the most arrogant fans in any sporting even I have ever been to. One thing the Griz do need to realize is, this isn't IA football. So you are one of the best in the 2nd notch division football. I would be happy too, but acting like Griz football is the best thing to ever happen to football is just moronic and childish. The only people who care about Griz football are Montanans and Griz alumni. It is the same with any 1AA program, that is why it is not popular.
Everyone can say the Cat fans are complete jackasses and jerks when we win, but after putting up with the Griz garbage for so long, what the hell did you expect? If you would have shown some respect over the years, we would have given it back when the tables turned.
Every year I wish for a Griz collapse, but it isn't going to happen.
Cat program is the joke Daddy? No, Griz fans are the joke.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

wa wa wa wa wa whaaaaaaaaaat? Did you really just compare Jeff Tuss to Ronnie Rodamer? Apples and Oranges. Didn't Tuss take at least a 4 year break from football to play baseball? Wasn't he like 30 years old when he started for the cats? You also have to remember that Jim Tuss (Jeff's late father, and all time great Capital High football coach) was very close with Cliff Hysell, and to see his son lace 'em up for the blue and gold may have been a dying wish for coach Tuss.UMfaninkazoo wrote:You guys go off about Rodamer.....what about Jeff Tuss......He was great in Montreal and Fresno State......how did he turn out for the Cats......wasn't he a poor mans Weinke?

You can look at the comparison that BYU has done traditionally well with players in the age rang of 22-24 coming back from their mission.......just cause a player comes from Notre Dame doesn't mean they are going to be great.....Look at all these guys who are supposed to be great everywhere and turn out to be a bust....I will not say anything about the late Jim Tuss as being from Helena and being a HHS student I respected what he did over there at Capital.....He was a great man as a coach and in other aspects of his life.

Guy's, let's invite him back after the Nov. 11 game for another conversation. I for one could really give a **it about the griz, they're just another bump in the road for the playoffs. But it's "fans" like him that make me want to scream that chant they hate so much (you all know which one I mean). In fact 2 out of the last three years they didn't seem to appreciate it. Another note about last year, the dreaded griz were a great home team, but do you realize they were only 2-3 on the road - all against 1AA competition at that? Get them out of WG and they're a remarkably below average team.

PDXKat: At least the Griz can win the home games. The cats are remarkably average home or away.
Also, Griz lost to the NC, the 3 or 4 best team in the country, & the 3rd best team in the Big Sky on the road. I don't see the cats doing much better on the road since they lost to Sac State ranked about 100 in 1-AA.

Got me on that. That stupid Sacstate game is like a bad nightmare, when I think about it I still don't know how it happened.jagur1 wrote:PDXKat: At least the Griz can win the home games. The cats are remarkably average home or away.

But, the griz were still only 2-3 on the road. Don't tell me how great those opponents were. The friendly confines of WG treated the griz well, but the road didn't. The griz finish with 3 road games next season. I'm suspecting Lulay finishes his career vs. the griz at 3-1.

Bear is right we better go back to our message board griz fans after all MSU was 0-2 versus Cal Poly last year.....they lost on the field and the Cal Poly engineering program is superior to Montana States........and Daddy griz probably has a better job than the cornfed inbred agriculture students there who are licensed to stick their hands up a cows ass and impregnate it after four years of getting the feel for it.

A high percentage of our agriculture students often go into banking. Next time you visit a bank in Montana ask the loan officers what school they went too and more then likely you will find a MSU grad. You would have to go to the local homeless shelter or a holding cell to find a UM grad.UMfaninkazoo wrote:Bear is right we better go back to our message board griz fans after all MSU was 0-2 versus Cal Poly last year.....they lost on the field and the Cal Poly engineering program is superior to Montana States........and Daddy griz probably has a better job than the cornfed inbred agriculture students there who are licensed to stick their hands up a cows ass and impregnate it after four years of getting the feel for it.
