Oh....I forgot some. The griz have the most knowledgable fans, the loudest stadium, and are generally gods gift to football. Glad we could get those out of the way as well.
That's it. Massage your inner self with nice rabbit skin. It's all coming clear to you MM7CAT. Let's sing...."Kum-by-ya Grizzlies, Kum-by-ya."

"Griz fans are obsessed with the Cats," wrote the young Cat fan on the internet message board on the thread that he started to discuss Griz fans. He lived in a glass house that contained no mirrors, and he knew nothing of this thing called "irony" that everyone was always talking about, though somehow, he knew that he probably wouldn't like it.
That's a little too deep for my simple mind. Aren't you the guy that says he prefers the Cat board because it's more civil (or something to that effect)? I'd think that you would fall somewhere in line with what I'm getting at. The issue is that the Griz fans think Cat fans are minor players because they say we only care about winning the Cat-Griz game. Yet, four years ago it seemed that Griz fans were quite proud of their 16-game win streak. :?

I didn't really start this thread out as smack. Just wanted to make sure everyone was sure about what they were saying for future reference. Because eventually UM will beat MSU in football and when they do, I want to make sure you're all passing on your bragging rights. Beating MSU would be no big deal, right? So if that's the case no Griz fans will be talkin' it up. It's your statement: we don't care about the Cats we want the big prize. So if you don't go all the way, that's what we can give you a bad time about.

That's kind of the consensus of what I'm hearing.

In 2004 I did not make a single quote or comment to a Cat fan regarding the game...In fact I went hunting instead of actually attending the game in my own backyard...If the Griz players want to talk smack so be it, they did the work.

Now, if you want to hear the lie about the sweet four point I shot that day strap yourself in for a loooong one!

Yeah...I do like eGriz; most of the posters there are good folks, but I think what I said was that, at times, there is a lot of sniping over there, specifically from certain posters. Since last football season, there was a pretty long period of time where I didn't post over there, because it seemed like every thread just turned into a btchfest.

As to this thread, though...I guess I just don't really care what people talk smack about. Why is it anyone's place to tell fans what they "should" be talking smack about? Cat fans have their points ("3 out of four," "16-6," "3 national titles," etc.), and Griz fans have ours ("17 out of 20," "the overall series record," "two national titles since the Cats' last one," etc.) If Cat fans want to talk smack about "16-6," I'm not going to tell them that they "should" be caring more about winning national titles (and I realize that some Griz fans do do this, and I can't help that). Similarly, why should a Cat fan be telling me that I can't talk smack about the recent Griz title runs, because I "should" only be talking smack about head-to-head games (and only recent ones, apparently)?

Maybe you don't want to hear this, but we're on the exact same page. 8)

I was just belaboring the point, because there has been this big uproar out of grizland that the Cats are 'simply' out to beat UM, while UM doesn't care about Cat-Griz and is looking for national titles. Obviously the Cats are trying to win more than just Cat-Griz and the Griz definitely want to win Cat-Griz. Like you said fans should be able to brag on what they did and not be told by other fans what they can, and can't, brag on.

I'm just trying to pin people down, because I know when push comes to shove, everyone wants to win Cat-Griz and it is a huge, huge game. Everyone also wants to win in the playoffs, but those are two different animals. Had MSU been going to the playoffs regularly during the streak of 16, then I'm sure Cat fans would've been doing the same thing. You take what you have, but no way are Cat fans just interested in winning the Cat-Griz game.

Reading this has been 3 pages of absolute pain.

Let's just say this:

Winning Brawl: Great
Making playoffs: Better
Wining NC: Best.

I agree and I think all Bobcat fans have been following that order of ascendence as well. Please let your friends know that because the only thing that's a bigger pain is constantly hearing Griz fans say MSU only wants to win the Brawl.

Wah Griz is pretty loud...you have to admit
Actually the only time I have been to Wa Griz it was very quiet. The date was November of 2002. I can't remember who they were playing but the fans did not have much to cheer about.

Oh...well go sometime when they are winning...It gets loud...I can understand it being quiet if they were losing...In 2002 I think the only team they lost to at home was MSU so it was probably them...I think they lost to EWU on the road.
The only time I would go would be if they were playing the Cats so that must have been the game. I guess that also means I will never be able to experience Wa Griz when the griz are winning.
I take it you didn't go two years ago....Or every other time besides 2002 the Griz beat the Bobcats at home since the opening of the mecca that is I-AA football...WAH GRIZ....as beams of light shine down upon it with the music sounding in the background

(I'm implying your record at Wah Griz is really...really....REALLY bad)

just for you information the griz are 127-18 at WGS including playoffs, they have gone undefeated at home 7 times since 1986 and the most losses for one season was 2 during numerouse years, and i just wanted to say yes the cats have won 3 of 4 but look at the overall record is around 65-35-5 for the griz so that means about every griz win there is 2 cat losses.

Thank you for clearing that up. Since the griz are into statistics, I am a Bobcat 100% of the time, win or lose. griz act like we should switch teams if we have a season that isn't up to expectations. griz posters also act like they are actually the ones scoring during the games... :-k

This attitude is prevalent on both sides...I'm not so sure El Gato is aware he does not actually play for the Cats....

On a side note do you guys ever wonder if Spike Lee goes into the Knick locker room at half time? Talk about overdoing it....sheesh

I think Griz nation will be interested in the Griz/cat game. However, when the Griz win, there won't be much to brag about from what I've seen the last 3 weeks.

Oh, Griz fans will care a great deal about the victory over the cats until about Noon on Sunday, when it will be forgotten. At that point, all of our focus will be on finding out what team we get to host and thrash in the first round of the playoffs.

This is the stupidest topic i have ever seen. It reminds me of kidergarden. The Cats write a topic about how the Griz are so obsessed with the Cats, yet the Cats are obsessed with the Griz being obsessed about them. In turn are Cats obsessed with Griz? AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! MABEY BOTH SIDES GIVE A SH*T ABOUT THIS RIVALRY, SAYING JUST ONE SIDE CARES AND THE OTHER DOSENT IS GOD DAMN INSANE!!!! THIS IS THE GRIZ/CAT, CAT/GRIZ RIVALRY YA FRIGGIN DORKS! DARRUUUHHHHRRRRR!!!!! ha ha ha  i love you kitty nerds.
