If the Griz are in the playoffs they will be at home in the 1st round. NO WAY the NCAA passes up that money. That is not arrogance that is the truth.

Agreed. The only way the griz wouldn't get a home game is if they made it in at 7-4, the committee would be forced to put the griz on the road even though they would not be happy ($$$). If the griz make the playoffs at 8-3, they will play at least the first round in Missoula. If they win both these games and finish 9-2, the griz will have the #2 seed and home games all the way through.

I was looking into my crystal ball last night and this is what I saw.

The CATS were only up by two with three seconds to play on the eagles, and then this is what happened!! Check it out kinda funny. But hey, we win.

You do understand only the top 4 teams are seeded??? The other 4 home games will be awarded based on several factors, one of the main factors being $. If the Griz go 7-4 and if the Griz get into the playoffs, I would not be surprised if we get a home game.

Yes, I do understand that. I think that any team that makes the playoffs with a 7-4 record will have to play at one of the seeded teams. Yes, even the almighty grizzlies. Money does talk, but these guys aren't complete idiots...

1. The Cats begin a two-game slide and end the year 6-5. Mr. Clean takes an assistant’s job at a D-1A program after the realization that a winning record without Travis next year is unlikely.
2. The Griz win out and host three playoffs games but lose the semi-final match up. Bobby and Co. head off to a non-BCS D1-A school and the Griz join the Cats in a search for a head coach.
3. The Saints win their 4th National Championship and both the Cats and the Griz woo Van Deist. Mike looks hard and after understanding the unrealistic expectations of the Griz fans, his family ties in Billings and Big Timber, and the realistic goals of the MSU program he takes over as the new head coach in Bozeman.
4. Retuning the vast majority of their semi-final appearance team, the Griz win their third National Championship in 2006.

I would love it if we (MSU) could get Van Deist but I have been told many times that it is never going to happen. If it took an 0-11 season to get him I would vote for it.

You're probably right about this, but I think it might also depend on who the four seeded teams are. If I remember correctly, the major factor in determining first round pairings under the new playoff rules is geography (i.e., minimizing travel), so if most of the seeded teams were eastern teams and there were other non-seeded teams from the west, it's possible the Griz would end up paired with the western teams instead of with the seeded teams (in which case, we could end up hosting, and whoever had to travel to Missoula would be furious).

Let me help you here. Not being seeded means that the teams are not seeded. 9-2, 8-3, 7-4 are all lumped in together. The committee try’s to regionalize the match-ups as much as possible to minimize travel. Teams within the same conference will not play each other in the first round. The committee also try’s to maximize $$$.

I could see an 8-3 team being sent on the road while a 7-4 team stays at home.
