I haven't become a die-hard Giants fan, but I do enjoy jumping on the bandwagon when things are going well. This will be a fun series to watch. The Giants seem to be a different team in the playoffs as compared to the regular season over the last 5 years, and the Royals and their fast food restaurant-esque payroll are a great underdog story (although they are probably favored to win it all now) this season.
And for those that don't know what I'm talking about (as it doesn't get much play anymore), the World Series is the championship of professional baseball ... think "Super Bowl," but for baseball.

This will be a darn good Series and we are looking forward to the GIANTS bring home another ring. But with both of these teams in I will not be disappointed if the Royals win.....

For a team that I wrote off at least 4 times this season, the Giants looked like world beaters in Game 1. AT&T Park is a short walk from my office, so I may just need to make sure I'm down there after work (or during work for day games) when the series shifts back to SF. I get that its all kind of silly on some level, but seeing that many really fired up people is fun. Sure they are mercenaries working for billionaires, but if everyone else buys into the myth that they "love the fans," who am I to go against that fun illusion?

That it is. Only five teams have done that. Yankees (many), A's (2), Red Sox, Cards, and Giants.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I see what you did there.

Indeed it is. It's good to be elite.
I bailed on the idea of taking our 5 year old to the parade on Friday. Getting him a contact high from 800,000 people while standing in the rain for hours on end for the honor of being 14 deep on a sidewalk lost some of its allure when I sobered up.
