Re: Favre retires...again...
maybe this is it, means hes coming back and it will be his last year. Who ever knows with Favre. One of my favorite players but I have lost a lot of respect for him over the last couple of years.

the only way I will believe this is if he isn't playing by Week 4, then I might believe it is true.

I'll believe it when the post-season is over. lol
But I bet that Childress is putting Jeff Garcia's phone number in his speed dial.

He really just needs to be done.. I am not a Packer fan nor a ViQueen for darn sure but i am a Favre fan and to watch him just get teed off on by the saint last year was a bit hard. I think favre knows that other teams took notice to it and would probably do the same thing. He's just to old to go through another season especially one where your being singled out and hit on every play.

His wife renewed her membership at a health club and they enrolled their son in a school in a suburb (Plymouth). Now if he's was on my budget I'd say this is a big deal.
It isn't, my guess is he's done.
If he does play I don't think he'll come back until after the regular season starts and not play until midway through the year and that's only if whoever Minnesota stick in there at QB is messing up around the bye week. I don't think he, or many other veterans, enjoy playing 16+ games a year.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the 'more money' variable. That changes evvvverrrrything! The 'sources' are saying they are throwing $3 million, plus $4 million in incentives at him.
It would be hilarious if he didn't have any intention on quitting and a couple of his teammates were just jerking the media around as a prank and it costs Zygi Wilf a few million.

Re: Favre retires...again...
Its never been about the money for Favre..ever this "report" about more money is just more of that media being bored. Honestly i think Favre would do it for free It probably comes down to his ankle isn't healing as fast as he would have hoped and he realizes that. Now until Brett comes on the TV and says i'm done i'm not believing anything I could care less what "sources" say I wanna hear it from Brett

What difference would hearing it from Brett make? We've heard that a number of time already and none of them made any difference then.3rdGenerationcat wrote:Now until Brett comes on the TV and says i'm done i'm not believing anything I could care less what "sources" say I wanna hear it from Brett

Re: Favre retires...again...
Just an example of an irresponsible media. Their sources are all un-named, but yet somehow this is a headline story.
Brett is just holding out so he doesn’t have to report to training camp until the end of Aug. He will be the starting QB for the Vikings this year. Childers(sp) probably knows this as well, but is going along with this "undecided" story so he doesn't allow players to think it's acceptable to miss training camp.

Re: Favre retires...again...
to me, this sounds like a 40-year-old who doesn't want to go through the rigors of NFL training camp. personally, i think they'd be better off with jeff garcia.

Re: Favre retires...again...
he wouldn't have had to go through training camp anyway. that much was already decided. that was another reason why i didn't buy this story from the beginning. some idiot in the media decided to run with a non-story and i guess it worked. favre will do just what i assumed he would do...enjoy his summer, work out on his own, rehab his ankle, and join the team sometime during the preseason.cat_stache_fever wrote:to me, this sounds like a 40-year-old who doesn't want to go through the rigors of NFL training camp. personally, i think they'd be better off with jeff garcia.
