Marijuana in the NFL

"Marijuana use is almost epidemic, with more guys having tested positive for marijuana at some point in their college background than I can ever remember,'' said a longtime team personnel man. "It's almost as if we are having to figure out a new way to evaluate it as part of the character and background report, because it's so prevalent. There're enough instances of it that it's hard to know how to set your board. You can't throw out that many guys. You have to go case-by-case and do your homework on them.''

everyone in the nfl smokes weed. rather than worry about how to enforce punishment, they should just let them do it. it obviously doesn't have any effect on performance whatsoever.

how? unless it's you, which it's safe to say is a stretch, you have no idea. to be fair, i don't know if everyone does, but i'd bet money that says the number of guys who do far outnumber those that don't. probably way worse in the nba. i think if the numbers came out in baseball too people would be surprised....although i don't know why.

It's a lot less damaging to the body than booze, and these guys know that, so most of them tend to opt for pot over booze when they are looking to unwind.
This isn't a new thing, either. I learned that bit above from MT college basketball players in the early 90s. They didn't like to play with hangovers, for obvious reasons.
If only it was legal ... then we'd treat it just like booze, and nobody would give a rat's arse.
