i'm more nervous about the crowd than the saints. both team are good. hope the vikes are better.

VIKES - 38
aints - 30

the afc is intriguing to me. the easy pick is the colts. but i want really bad for the jets to win. never underestimate the power of the team that EVERYONE picks to lose. plus, i think it'd be awesome to see the colts lose to the very team that they let in the playoffs by resting their starters. i think in the future teams would think twice about doing so unless the playoffs were already decided. especially to teams within their own conference. think it's all wishful thinking on my part. colts are tough. manning is ridiculous.

colts - 31
jets - 17

My problem is that I would be happy seeing either NFC team go and don't give a rats arse about the AFC.

Saints / Vikings

Colts / Jets

If this happens, I would not be surprised to see the highest scoring sb ever!

But I pretty much hope for that every weekend.

To make it even worse is listening to all the Queens fans around here boasting about THEIR team making this far, THEIR team doing better than the Pack. Which is basically like if we made it a round further in the playoffs than the Griz and started giving them crap like we always had the better team.

i can only assume i fall in that category as one of the "queens". i do say "their", "our", "my", all the time. i do the same thing about the cats. as far as talking about how much better they are then the pack...i don't recall saying that. like last weekend for instance when you....oops....the packers were getting crushed before lucking out into overtime only to fumble away thier....oops, the packers chance at winning...i didn't say anything. as far as the griz comparison, sadly it's not even close. unfortunately the griz crush us in the overall series, and have crushed us recently. as far the vikes and pack, the series is almost dead even with the nod going to the pack i think. both teams are 5-5 in their last ten meetings. so if anyone is talking trash, which i have yet to see, it's truly nothing like us talking trash to the griz. however, i see cats talking trash to the griz all the time, so basically they look like idiots for acting like the cats have always had a better team than the griz. me and the rest of the "queens" will try and tone it down for you...

Oh I wasn't talking about YOU  Don't you go getting all pissy at me before your big game. :D It's not the team possessiveness that bothers me I think most of us do that. It's the in your face "our team is kicking ass and you guys suck" that's too prevalent here (ND/MN/I'm sure IA) I just remind them that they needed a Packer QB to get to the next level :D

(BTW - I met a Viking fan yesterday that is so pissed about the Favre hire that he's not watched a game all year. He said in the past 30 years he's probably missed one game and no one believed he'd stay pissed all year but he still is and it's getting worse every game they win now.)

I'm picking the Colts and my heart says the Vikes. But, I don't see even the Mini Ditkas beating the Saints today.

Saints

The only team I dont hate that is still in the playoffs is the Saints.

I like Favre but not enough to want him to win with the vikqueens

Jets and Colts????

In a perfect world a plane crashes on the stadium and its game over.

How many people are glad they're not Favre this morning? He's got to be one sore old man.

I'm sure most Viking fans don't feel a lot better emotionally. I told all my Viking friends that the mix of Favre and the Vikes is a bad one. Something horrible was bound to happen and it did. Just glad I was expecting it, but it really doesn't do all that much to relieve the pain.

The game was like a combo of the '75 loss to Dallas and the '98 loss to Atlanta. The '75 loss had the late bad calls with Pearson catching a ball out of bounds on 4th down and the Hail Mary push off ala the two bad calls in OT, but at least Favre's dad didn't die (like Fran's dad did) during the game although he might have if he were alive at the beginning.

The '98 loss had the bad plays, missed FG late, dropped INTs by Griffith, fumble by Cunningham at the end of half for quick six ala the turnovers that cost Minnesota all the points they needed to win this one (and that one) and then some. :(

Kicker Gary Andersen's wife packed up their kids and left him shortly after the 98 loss, so combine that with Tark's dad and lets hope none of the Minnesota players get that combo.

No team I know of has had the on-field heartache of the Minnesota Vikings (the Bosox aren't even close). Just glad their airplane made it back to the Twin Cities in one piece.

I don't particularly like or dislike either Favre or the Vikings, but I do think that all of the talking heads on ESPN have been a little over the top in their criticism of his late INT "costing them the game". Is everyone forgetting the three turnovers by players not name Favre? And how could they let that "12 men in the huddle" penalty happen in a scenario like that (or ever for that matter)? Without that penalty, they probably run instead of pass on that next play, and Favre would never have been in a position to throw a pick. Plus, would the Vikes ever have gotten within even a sniff of the NFC championship game this season, if they had been forced to rely on one of their other QB this year, rather than Favre?

Yeah they could have ran and had Petersen fumble! You can never blame a game on one play. They just didn't take care of the ball and that will cost you almost every time.

It has always bugged me the way that plays (whether they be heroic plays or mistakes) in the final minutes of a game are so magnified by fans and the media, when there are so many other plays during the course of a game that have just as much impact towards determining the outcome. Without all of the earlier turnovers, the Vikings would likely have had a comfortable lead as the game was winding down, and it never would have even come down to that final Favre interception. But I guess it is just so much easier to say "Favre blew it again!!".
