Fantasy Baseball Anyone?

Post by GavinDonos » Tue Mar 24, 2009 7:27 am

Is there a thread already started somewhere for Fantasy Baseball? I figured it would be in here, but couldn't find one.

If anyone is interested then make yourself known! We can settle on the perfect service, league type, and draft for the formidable Bobcat Nation Fantasy League.

I've only played Fantasy Baseball on Yahoo and MLB.com, so if anyone is familiar with ESPN.com or CBSsports.com just chime in.

Our resident Griz faithful are more than welcome to join up... it makes it much more fun to have a spicy stew of teams in the pot.

Anyway, just doin' a pulse check.

espn.com is the best hands down. I'd love to play if we can get a league up this year. Last year I tried to get one going with 12 teams but could only get 8 to sign up at a time

I'd be interested. I'm in a CBS league but I think I preferred the MLB.com we used last year.

It might just be me but I think MLB is probably the worst format I've played in

MLB was the first one I ever played in so maybe that is why. Still getting used to CBS. No matter what site we use, I'm in.

Any feelings on if we'd want to do a live draft? Trades?

It looks like ESPN has the most features without having to pay anything, from what I can gather.

a live draft is definitely the most fun, especially now that espn has an auction format. The problem lies in getting 10-12 people's schedules to line up. and in my honest opinion, trades are what keep your leagues "living"

to play in a standard espn league we need ten and right now we have four. If we can get six more locked in I'd be glad to set one up and send out the info

I know MM7CAT will want to play, so there is five.

What about some of our Griz friends... there were quite a few who joined up last year. If we get really desperate we could put a feeler out on eFriz!

Maybe not enough people are checking the "Pro Sports" forum...

I'd play for sure. I am kinda obsessed with fantasy leagues. Makes up for me sucking at sports in real life.

I would sign up to play. I am a rookie though.

If I play this like I do the Pick Em Bobcat football scores and the NCAA tourney bracket, I will have to change my name to cellar dweller, for sure.

I'd play again even though I have gotten my ass beat the last two years playing. I'd also vote a different format than MLB.

I've set one up on espn.com. post your email addresses or send me a message and I'll send out the league invites

I would play, but my freakin' internet connection is slow I don't think I could keep up in a live draft league. :(

you shouldn't need a fast connection. as long as you can load espn.com the rest is pretty simple. I set it for auction to keep it fairly even but could change it if people like snake drafts
