And as a YANKEE fan (since "51") I hated to see Montero go. He will help the M's offense.
Pineda will be a nice addition to the YANKEE'S. He is excited about getting to pinch alongside CC...............
Will the M's finally make it back to .500?

If Pineda stays healthy, he could be a very good pitcher for a long time. He throws hard and he throws strikes. The worry is that he throws too hard and may be putting too much stress on his arm.RickRund wrote:And as a YANKEE fan (since "51") I hated to see Montero go. He will help the M's offense.

Don't know much about Montero, but he sounds like a great hitter, but is still somewhat looking for a position in the field. Possibly catcher.

Also, just saw the M's missed out on Fielder as he just signed with Detroit.

Hopefully it works out. Pineda is a good pitcher. Hate to give up arms like that, but if it can spark the offense... Where do you see him fitting in the lineup? Cleanup behind Ackley or Guti? Smoak in the #5 spot? Do you play Olivo most of the way at C and Montero at DH and spell Olivo at C from time to time?wbtfg wrote:If Pineda stays healthy, he could be a very good pitcher for a long time. One thing about it, I like the combination of a healthy Gutierrez, Smoak, Montero, and Olivo, with Ackley holding down the leadoff spot (sounds like Ichiro won't hit leadoff this season).
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
