I just read this on USA today. They don't even mention Northern, even if it is only NAIA. Did not know that they had gotten rid of Samson. The writer also did not mention that the kids high school coach had a brother in law at Idaho.

Cool article, but definitely overly dramatic. Matt kegel went to wsu, Mariana playing with bears, petrino connection, less than two hours from great falls where Lots of guys have gotten scholarships....havre definitely not as off the grid as the article makes it sound.

Just out of curiosity why do the folks in the know think he hasn't got any offers. Something about his game? What?

From Colter in October of 2014

Dane Warp was a blue chip on my Recruiting Central list as a soph. He's a stud athlete, but things about attitude have arisen. He's a four-year starter in hoops and football. He's a great athlete. Just don't know if he's a D-I QB. I think he's a Frontier swingman all the way, though.
It's an outdated post, so maybe things have changed, but that's a possibility.

From my limited knowledge/perspective I would say things haven't changed.

Ok. But he wouldn't be the first stud athlete with an entitled attitude. I was at CMR when mister Leaf was there. Dude had an attitude. Not comparing him to Leaf(remember the conversation about whether Leaf or Manning would be the better qb), but alot of star athletes have poor attitudes.

I agree. There has to be something with his athleticism or mechanics or something other wise MSU and UM would have certainly offered. Let's not forget the stats Mark Desin put up in AA. Just because Dane is putting up great numbers doesn't mean he's a D1 QB.

I also agree 100% with Colter that he would make a great frontier conf wingman. I'm just not sure that's what he'd want.

I would say not. The article says FBS. it's possible, that is what he has told recruiters.

I'd be curious to hear how Samson would compare Dane Warp to Tyler Emmert, as I believe samson was Emmert's coach at Helena Capital.
