Portland State just put out a press release announcing a 3:30 p.m. press conference in the Browsing Lounge of Smith Memorial Student Union to announce the new head coach. The release doesn't say who the new coach will be but sources say Jerry Glanville is the man.

Since he's in the Pacific Northwest now, I wonder if he will leave tickets at the gate for Bigfoot.....instead of Elvis.

I suspect even in laid back Portland, the crowds are going to pick up considerably. Good luck and welcome back to where the run and shoot began (geezzz, I hate that offense  . Who does PSU have besides Smith?

Little off topic, but what is this going to mean for us and the Hawaii transfers

Everything will be fine unless and until PSU lights up the griz for 50 using the run and shoot - then there will be hell to pay.

Well, Glaville's teams always had the label of being dirty simply because they played through the whistle and flat arsed didn't back down from anybody. I still don't want to see Mouse Davis in the Sky

No - I meant that griz nation pines so much about those bygone glory years of DD and the run and shoot, that there will be hell to pay if anyone else lights up the griz using that offense...especially a Big Sky team.

Gotcha. But I try to not even think about them unless my hemorrhoids start acting up.

Glanville will be in Portland about as long as Dennis Erickson would have been.

Pat Kennedy had nowhere near the resume that Jerry Glanville has at this point. It's an absurd comparison.

Plus, Kennedy had an abrasive personality, while Glanville is a natural salesman.

Throw in Mouse Davis, and PGE Park could be a fun place to visit this fall. I expect to see all MSU fans here in October!

Only if the following changes a made:
Portland State University becomes The University Of Oregon portland
The Vikings become the Duckings.

The Ducks are the team in Portland.

I think this is an excellent hire for them -- especially if he is content to stay there for a long time.

This pretty much tells me that the rumors that he was interested in the MSU job if Kramer would have left were probably very true.

I think PSU has a real chance to make some noise with Glanville at the controls.

Point being, coming from big time, going to a smaller school/program. Neither, if they were as good as they think they are, lasted/won't last long in the BSC. Plus he's 65, I'll give him 2 years at the most.

I'll guess PSU is around .500 this year.

Hmmm? :-k Always the coaches fault, unless they recruit talent-- Krysko didn't do too bad with his kids.
