Which Minnesota?
If it's the Gophers then good for them. Kramer won't even look there.

You're telling me that if Kramer had a chance for the Minnesota job he wouldn't consider it?

“I think I've heard every coach that's coached against the Grizzlies this year sit up here and say, ‘You know, we're better than those guys, and we can beat those guys,' ” said Kramer. “You know what? The truth is you ain't. So shut. The heck. Up.

I'm telling you they probably won't contact him so he won't look there. Sorry for being vague, but I would be surprised if they interview him.

Your telling me that Kramer has a shot at the Minnesota job when he couldn't get hired at Idaho. That's pretty much the craziest thought process I've seen in a while.

Nowhere in the post does it say they will hire him, but will he look to apply?

No it doesn't, but if that wasn't the point, then why is this posted in this forum and not college sports. Not to hard to connect the dots on why this was posted.

Glen Mason's firing CAN affect either the Bobcats or Grizzlies via the domino effect. Neither Kramer or Hauck will be considered for the Minnesota job but if a coach from a "mid-major" gets the job they may be considered for THAT position. Anything is possible especially if some other goofy coach blows a 28 point 3rd quarter lead in a bowl game.

I told my friend at the bar when that game was 35-7 that Tech would come back and win, the Gophers have made a habit of blowing big leads.

The problem at U of Minn is the Athletic Director!! He gave Mason a new five year contract in Jan of this year and now he fires him. He said he is sticking with Monson after last year and then fires him after seven games. We need a new AD first before we let him attempt to hire a coach(es).

If Mason got fired for blowing a big 2nd half lead, I doubt they'll want anything to do with Kramer! (Sac St, NAU, ISU, ...)

I can't really see Hauck going there either, although at the same time I never thought he'd end up as a finalist at Stanford.

U of Minn will be looking at a big name to fill the FB vacancy. They have not had a winning tradition in 30 years and do not have the luxury of being patient with a new coach. Attendence is already low. Schools like Ohio State and Wisconsin will pack the house (at least for a couple of years) regardless who is coach. U of Minn needs to build momentum before moving into their new stadium in 3 years. The tax payers are paying a ton for that new stadium ($250M) and will not be very happy if it opens to half empty seats.

If you still win, does that constitute a blown lead? I suppose it does, but there's a big difference if you hold on to win.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Hauck is a candidate for the Minnesota job.

He won't be! They don't have a lot of talent on this team and their QB (who was decent) is graduating. A young unknown coach (at least unknown in MN) will not get the support he needs to win in 2-3 years. A big name coach will get more slack to build a winner over a few years.

The Gophers ought to look at Craig Bohl, coach of North Dakota State, the Bison almost beat the Gophers this year.

Is the new stadium for the Gophers also for the Vikings? I hear they're building a new stadium for the Twins too?

Bohl would be perfect because he really knows MN recruiting (better than Mason did) but he probably won't get the chance.

The Gopher stadium is college only. 52K seats. The Vikings are looking for a retractable roof $600M stadium.

I feel sorry for the MN tax payers...I think Washington taxpayers are still paying for the Kingdome....

I think Coach Bohl is on their list but behind some of the big names. It has been stated many times how much Coach Bohl likes working with Gene Taylor who is NDSU's AD. Not sure how much he would like to work for Maturi. The advantage Coach Bohl has is recruiting, but the disadvantage is most people want a big name to come in and take over.

They are building three new stadiums! One for the Gophers, one for the Vikings, and one for the Twins. Ouch.
