How did they do that

Post by catBBfan » Tue Dec 05, 2006 8:44 pm

As you can see by the handle I am a CAT FAN and I have MSU license plates on my truck. I just received a notice from the state that the plates are coming due. The entire back of the card is devoted to advertising on how to go about buying Griz plates. I assume the UofM bought this space to advertise there plates. It is a good marketing gimmick I was just shocked to see it there.

Waste of money in my opinion. Your either a Griz fan or a Cat fan in Montana. Anybody moving into the state and registers their car I doubt would buy either plate? So I don't really get the marketing ploy there. So I don't really see it doing much good there? I'm sure 99% of every UM/MSU grad knows there are alumni plates out there.

Actually, I disagree. I think many folks new to Montana jump on the Griz bandwagon right off the bat. What better way to quickly lose your "out of stater" status than to get griz plates on your vehicle? Face it - one thing UM has done quite well is market the program... this state is absolutely flooded with that nauseating maroon color...
