Trib vs. Gazzette

A comparison of the two papers who claim to be state-wide this morning:
Gazzette: Labeled "Friday Sports Extra"
- 2 articles about Cat-Griz, or in this case, just Griz; one about Swagger and other about the Griz special teams, covering about a 1/2 page. Thats it!!
Tribune: Labeled "CAT-GRIZ Sports Extra"
- 6 seperate articles, 3 by Geise about the Griz and 3 by Mansch about the Cats.
- How the teams stack up, with all of the key stats.
- History of the rivalry
- Individual Stats
- 2-Deep depth chart
- Blurbs on two key players (Rolo and Murphy)
- Identified six impact players, (Force, Jefferson, Daly, Swogger, Bradshaw, Allen.)
- Head coaches at a glance
- Team scoring by quarter
- 2006 season results
- All of this covering 4 full pages of the sports section.
Can anyone defend the Gazette as "the" statewide newspaper?
Cat and Griz fans alike should write to Geise and Mansch, and thank them for continuing to provide the best, most balanced coverage of Bobcat and Grizzly sports in the State of Montana.
