South Dakota State as of today.

Many of us thought they'd find success much earlier in the year. Beating Cal Poly and UC Davis after losing to a D III team on a swamp makes me hope we don't see them in Bozo next fall.

Also have beat McNeese St. and Nicholls St. on the road.

What turnaround. That loss to the D-3 Wisconsin team may be more embarassing than our loss to Chadron. Then they beat Cal Poly and UC Davis. Pretty impressive. Davis must have cooled off a little-they looked unbeatable against us in September.

On another note: NDSU rolls again 31-7 over Southern Utah.

Speaking of Poly, they turned around this week and beat San Diego St. 16-14 for another 1-A victory...Poly will still need to beat either Montana or NDSU on the road the next two weeks in order to get their 7 D-1 wins for playoff eligibility, though...tough task.

For what it's worth, we were only down 7-0 with 2:11 left in the second quarter against Davis when our...oh forget it!!!!! That final score and what happened against EWU was not coaching or athleticisim. Go back and watch the films. But that's not the intent of this thread--SDSU is much better than their overall record indicates and they're just as young as we are. God, if Fields schedules them for next near, I'm going over the deep end.

We have to play them in Brookings next Sept. That should be a fun & tough one.

Looking forward to seeing you guys in Fargo next year. Should be a hell of a game. Good luck the rest of the season. Well see how real the SDSU boys are in a few weeks when they come to Fargo.

I am impressed withthe Fargo Dome. It makes the Metra look like a portapotty. Might head out for that one....

I think the biggest problem with the Metra is it's outdated. As a result, the maintenance is high and the prices are passed on.

I think Billings has outgrown the Metra and it should be replaced.

I think that NDSU game should be a good one next year. Definately worth getting over to Fargo for. The 'Cats are going to be loaded with vets and very tough, and hopefully ready for all challengers next year.

As far as the Metra goes, I don't think it was built for football... can't really compare it with the Fargodome.

The Metra is quite old and has been run terribly, but it was the gem of the Great Northern Plains back in it's day. It's depressing to walk thru these days.

The NDSU games that I won't miss next year are Montana State, Minnesota and Cal Poly (Just because I love wine). I think that the Montana State game will have the FARGODOME rocking!!

Here is SDSU's 2007 schedule that was listed in this year's media guide:

Aug. 30 - at Western Illinois
Sept. 8 - TBA
Sept. 15 - Montana
Sept. 22 - Texas State
Sept. 29 - Stephen F. Austin
Oct. 6 - at Georgia Southern
Oct. 13 - TBA
Oct. 20 - Cal Poly
Oct. 27 - at UC Davis
Nov. 3 - at Central Arkansas
Nov.10 - Southern Utah
Nov. 17 - NDSU

We have since added an away game with Youngstown State -- not sure if it is Sept. 8th or Oct. 13th

I'm not really going to prognosticate on how all of the opponents above will be like next year, but that schedule, in my opinion, looks like the most brutal one I've EVER seen for I-AA.

Davis, Poly, possibly YSU, NDSU, SFA, Texas State, Ga Southern, Montana......

Geez!!!

I agree. SDSU will set some kind of record for playoff-caliber teams played in one season. That will be brutal. They should be ranked next season on balls alone.

Are they actually hosting UM?

Are you sure the Griz play SDSU next year in Brookings? I had not heard that.

Jackrabbits ranked for first time in I-AA

For the first time since moving up to the NCAA Division I-AA level, the South Dakota State University football team is nationally ranked.

The Jackrabbits moved into both The Sports Network and College Sporting News top 25s on Monday. SDSU is ranked 24th in The Sports Network poll, while checking in at 21st in the CSN Coaches Poll.

SDSU had been receiving votes in the polls the last three weeks. . . . (read more)
