GO BENGALS!

there . . . i said it.

one of the dominos that needs to fall this weekend to give the Cats a chance at being the outright BSC champ is isu pulling out a stunner at wgs. i'm not trying to create a smack topic (though i'm sure it will degrade into one) - only stating the obvious best case for the Cats. i also realize that a griz win doesn't completely shut the door on the Cats either.

the second part of this is how realistic is that scenairo. i would say that isu has about a 15-20% chance of winning at wgs (so griz fans - that means the odds are highly in your favor - before i get pummeled with smack). isu will have to play a relatively mistake free game, prevent against the quick griz start, showcase the high powered offense and hope for some breaks. i think this will be one of the true tests of the griz D. odds are that the griz don't lose this one....still hoping for the slim chance for the Cats sake.

let the comments flow....

You know good, rotten, son-of-a.......just kidding. I'd rout for the Cats opponent if it helped the Griz. No worries toddler!

Here's my take. If the Griz can jump out to an early lead, it just gets worse and the Griz thump em'. If the Bengals keep it close in the first quarter, it's close the whole game and I bite my finger nails off.

Totally agree toddler. As I posted in another thread:

Not because I have deep hatred of the Griz, but because I am hoping the game on Nov. 18th is a true championship game. If the griz drop one to ISU (no way they are losing to UNC), then we have a realistic shot at both Cats and Griz going into Cat/Griz with 1 loss and winner takes all, absolutely NO chance of a tie again. While I would take a co-championship and the autobid if that is all we can get, I would much rather see the Brawl for all the marbles, winner is champ all alone.
As for ISU's chances this weekend, I think they are pretty slim. The one thing I am very interested in seeing is how the Griz do against a high powered offense that can (doesn't mean it will) be more balanced with good running and good passing. They shut down Murietta and the Lumberjacks, but there wasn't much outside of the passing threat there. It should be a good test and give a good feel to the fans for what the Griz D truly has. I will say this, if the Griz can get good consistent pressure on Guittarez I think they win this game easily. Guittarez looked pretty good last week, but he did not do well when the Cats were getting pressure on him.

As they say... Cat's still control their destiny. Win the next 3 and we are the Big Sky Champs. The tie-breaker thing is weird. I say if the Cat's and Griz both have one loss but we beat them head-to head, that shouldn't even be considered a tie. If there are 3 teams tied with 2 losses, say MSU, UM, Eastern, and Eastern beat us, UM beat Eastern, but MSU beats UM... and they then start looking at the other losses and to which teams... that's more of what I consider a "Tie". Just my Opinion... 8)

No different than last year though when EWU beat both UM and MSU but all three were co-champions or three years ago when we beat both NAU and UM and all three were co-champions.

Go Weber!! Brawl is purely a game for Montana's playoff seeding.

I agree that is the only way we can be outright BSC Champs. But I'm not sure that is the best thing for the playoffs. If um wins the rest of their games (excluding the MSU game, of course), they will be ranked higher, and beating a higher ranked team may be better for us (assuming we win the rest of our games). Either way, we will be in the playoffs with the automatic berth.

But if Griz lose and then we beat them they will be seeded lower and we have a better chance at at hosting a playoff game.
