And only took Colorado 4 quarters to lose it.

One of the articles in ESPN had the line something to the effect Colorado could not run or pass; they were researching other options

Apparently they are using it again this year. I didn't watch the game but noticed Swogger completed over 50%. Then I looked at his yds/comp. and I believe it was 4.4. Actually 7.6 yds/comp., but still pretty low. If they threw a lot of short passes that might explain his high comp. %.
Like I said, I didn't watch, just saw stats.

Ya but Dave Dickenson has about as much to do with Hauck's version off the Griz, as that uni that he is wearing!

No, it wasn't the forward pass he knew, he was the sideline out and screen pass that he was familar with. His yardage came by his receivers' RAC.

Acutally the school was maroon and silver before switching to the burnt orange and yellow....so to say that they turned away from their true colors would be wrong

Actually, the official school colors are
still copper, silver, and gold. Somehow, UM turned that into puke-orange and piss-yellow. When someone finally came out of their smoke-induced haze and realized that those uniforms were the ugliest ever seen by man (until Oregon as of late), they invented the "spirit colors" as a marketing ploy. Worked pretty well, too.

The school colors have always been copper, silver and gold. We're Montana! Copper is a hard color to artificially produce, so from 1893 to the mid 60s UM used burgundy to stand for copper. In the mid-60s under Jack Swarthout, the Griz adopted Texas burnt orange as copper and used all 3 colors. In 1996, we went back to using burgundy for copper. You're right that it was a marketing ploy though. In 1996 I believe only Montana and Texas were using Texas burnt orange, and UM felt that color was too expensive to mass produce.

M'God, the Griz fans don't even know what their school colors are!! According to the October 1998 Griz Main Hall to Main Street rag, "UM ranks 40th in overall logo sales among the 175 universities nationwide that are represented by the Atlanta-based Collegiate Licensing Co. Marked increases in sales came on the heels of the Grizzly football team's I-AA National Championship title in 1995 and when UM returned to the tradition of using the original spirit colors of maroon and silver in 1996, . Maybe they're copper, silver, and gold, or maybe just copper and silver, or maybe maroon or maybe burgundy ---- or perhaps it's light grey and dark pink. Next thing they will be changing their song to "Up with Missoula County, little fellas, turn down your nose."

Bozone hit it. The school colors are copper, silver and gold, with the actual color being the actual color of the metal. The "spirit colors" are what the teams wear to represent the metals.
You're partly right though. I said burgundy instead of maroon
