Oklahoma QB transfers

Post by greatfallsbobcat » Mon Aug 28, 2006 9:22 pm

Oklahoma QB Rhett Bomar transfers to Sam Houston State, if you remember he was the starting OU QB and was said to take them to the National Championship before getting in trouble for accepting extra benefits. Although he can be a liability issue that is a big plus for that team it can make them the possible favorites to win the National Championship. If im correct he is only a junior. There was also another player JD Quinn who was dismissed from OU who is an O-lineman who transfered to Montana....

I just got off the egriz board, and a poster brought up a great point about the direction of Hauck's program. This latest Oklahoma player, kicked off the team for booster violations, and going to Montana, is yet another in a line of criminal type IA players being signed by Hauck.

How many times have we read about Kramer signing problem kids by Montana fans? How much heat did we take from Griz fans after the murder incident envolving MSU athletes? How many times have those same smug Montana fans labled Lewis a thug coach, and Idaho State a thug team?

Is the pot calling the kettle black? If they keep going over in Missoula, they will have to change their maroon jerseys to black-n-white stripes.

I wouldn't so much call Quinn a thug. He just took improper payment from a dealership. It is not like he is some gun toting mobster. Just accepted an ill adivised gift. Happens all the time in the NCAA(unfortunately).

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Doesn't Quinn also have a DUI from last fall.

I am not calling Quinn a thug. Yes, he does have a DUI, but that does not make him a thug. I just get sick of the holier-than-thou attitude of some Griz fans about other Big Sky programs. Any time another conference team has a few problems, such as what we went through earlier this year, and what Idaho State went through last year, Griz fans sit there and throw out the barbs about the thugs other schools recruit.

They seem to have amnesia about their defensive back who pulled a gun in downtown Missoula, or the running back who beat his girlfriend unconcious on campus. Now, they have taken several players from IA programs with character issues. But that is swept under the rug by the Griz fans. I hope that some of these players blow up in their faces, as I predict they will. It will serve them right for judging other programs so harshly.

They definitely have no room to talk bad about questionable transfers that other programs bring in with Russum, Coleman, and now this new guy - however the running back thing is a bit of an exaggeration - if I remember correctly he just threw a phone at her.

Catatac, I am not talking about Hilliard. I forgot about that incident, so add that one to the list. They had a RB named Gober, I believe, who literally kicked down a dorm door, dragged his former girlfriend outside the dorm, and beat her severly. He had to be dragged off of her or he might have killed her. He was dismissed from the team, at least.

But, the Griz have there own issues, as do all college football programs. They just love to insinuate that their recruits are a cut above, and they are not. It looks like Hauck does not give a rip about character issues, by the number of them he has signed recently.

Oh, sorry - hadn't heard about that one. Yes, they definitely have their questionable recruits, as do most programs.

As a Griz fan, I must admit that what you are saying is true Catmandoo. It is commonly velieved that ISU runs an outlaw program down in Pokey town. As for most Griz fans thinking that the Cats run a similar program, I have not heard too much of that talk.

I will admit to raising my eyebrows a bit at the number of kids with character issues that our football program is taking these days. I just hope that some of these kids do not ruin our team chemistry. Nothing screws up a team like dissention.

Do not fret too much about Griz fans. Many of them, in their quest to be loyal supporters, seem to lose touch with reality.
