New OT rules

I don't watch enough other football but the night of the SJSU/Hawaii game, in maybe th 3rd ot I wondered what was going on with the scoring until I looked at gamecast. And again this afternoon with Pitt/Toledo.

Do they start with a 2 point conversion after the 3rd ot? Like I said, I don't follow games that often. When did that start that?

It's either after the 2nd or 3rd OT. Been going on for a couple years I think. Before the change some of the OTs (and scores) were getting out of hand.

I always thought they should make teams start from the 40 or even the 50. That way you have to put together some kind of drive or kick a long field goal (always risking in CFB).

1st OT, normal rules (can kick PAT)
2nd OT, Field goal or must go for 2pt conversion on TD
3rd OT and beyond, swap 2 point conversion tries.
