Leave it to the FBS to over complicate a relatively straight forward process. I understand giving auto bids, but giving byes to some conference champs, but not all conference champs or whatever. Just seed the field 1-12 and go from there-geez. Anyway, little 'ol Boise State who got their start in the Big Sky now way up in the stratosphere.

You can hear the whine from Tuskolooosa all the way to Canada. Poor low tide...snif snif...

The idea that the #9 and #12 ranked teams can get the #3 and #4 seed and a massive advantage of not playing in the first round seems like something they're going to have to closely look at, especially if Boise and ASU get blown out by Penn State and Texas respectively. I'm guessing that they'll expand it to 16 teams with no byes as soon as they can, and keep the auto bids but without the requirement that four of those teams receive the top seeds.
I thought they did a great job this year, I suspect that Alabama is better than SMU but I love that they rewarded the team that lost once in the regular season over the one that lost three times including against Vanderbilt.

That's where I'm at with it, too. Should be a fun weekend of games. Glad there are some teams in it that aren't the traditional blue bloods. So glad Bama is out, though I do really like Calen DeBoer. Also interesting that there's an intra-state game that will be played in South Bend. I don't think it's much of a rivalry, but

Should reward conference Champs. Auto bid, but not bye. Seed the 12. For being #1 and by far best record and wins, Oregon got a pretty tough path compared to some others. Shouldn't be any repeat games until semis.
It didn't happen this year but imagine 2 teams playing during season, conference championship, and quarters. That is bad for game.

I love their AD making the statement that they'll reevaluate their schedule-never mind that all their loses were in conference and their non-conference schedule included a bad Wisconsin team and Mercer.

You'd think those morons would simply copy/paste the FCS model. But no.

Those rubes? No way. We can do way better!
