The fighting Choates are tied 14-14 at Boise. I seem to remember Nevada spoiling a BSU season a few years ago too. They like to do that.

There was a 100% chance that Choate would have Nevada ready to go for this one! They just got screwed out of an INT on a phantom PI call but still made the stop. Doing a nice job of slowing down Jeanty.

Choate lives for these types of games.

Doesn't look like they slowed Jeanty down too much. Still had over 200 yards rushing...

Smart move again by Jeff Choate, as I’m sure he’s looking to capture the in-state recruits. There is a lot of good high school football played in Nevada. The warm winter weather in the southern tip (the arrowhead) brings in many off-season skill-building events like big 7-on-7 tournaments, etc. The population of Nevada is 3.26 million, just larger than Iowa and smaller than Utah, so plenty of players to choose from with only two D-1 FBS programs in the state.
The major HS state championships are played on the same day at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which is pretty cool. The top divisions use relegation/promotion to help keep competition fair and safe — which is a really great idea in a state with two major cities, but where the rest of the state is rural.
Jeff has basically rebuilt the old Montana State gang from the nutritionist on up. I expect him to be pretty successful if he gets decent administrative support.
