Atterbury mentioned it in the pregame, but no details. PSU website really sucks.

This is two ugly incidents for the Griz in the past three weeks. Krysko was a scrappy, tough player in the NBA, and teams generally will take on the personality of their coach.

That said, I hope that some lines aren't being crossed. Playing tough is one thing, but the Griz are starting to get a reputation in the conference for being a "dirty" team. There is a fine line, and Krysko screaming profanities at the ref yesterday, which resulted in a T and should have resulted in an ejection, makes me think that this team might be a bit closer to over the line than many Griz fans will admit.

At least the Griz are playing with some fire. We haven't seen anything resembling a pulse from the Cats for over a month. NOT EVEN DURING THE CAT-GRIZ GAME!!!

Papa, I do not think that the Griz are any worse than other teams in terms of toughness, being scrappy, or in your words "dirty". As for Krysko, I will be the first to admit that he gets very fired up and intense during a game. But as for the incident in Portland, no Griz player threw the ball in the face of the opposition, and no Griz player threw a punch.

And at least Larry K. is good to get his team off the floor and not get in the face of the opposing players...

You guys have it ALL wrong. Read the attached Oregonion story. It even states that two PSU players were the instigators in the event and that they were both ejected.

Incidentally, two of their football players were also ejected from the stands by the game officials for vulgarity. Nice.

Here's a quote from the PSU board. I think it's pretty clear where the problem lies. And it ain't with the Grizzlies, although I'm certain that's not a popular idea on this board:

We have been large supporters and donors to PSU since moving here in 1994. After last night's game, we will no longer support as such. To witness such language and actions (by athletes nonetheless) gives the University a tarnished image that few want to be associated.
This is a sad day for PSU sports, as both major sports were involved. Sportsmanship and class is greatly needed at this point.

Maybe Larry just didn't like this punk kid getting in his face and pointing his finger telling Larry how it is going to be as seen in this picture immediately before the picture you posted:

Context for a picture is amazing

Come on guys; these people are CAT FANS. Any suggestion that the Griz are anything other than the spawn of Satan himself is to be immediately dismissed as ludicrous -- haven't you learned that yet? ;)

I personally like the fact that Krysko is scrappy and will not hesitate to protect his team if he believes it is necessary. He is only in his second year as a head coach in college, and third year as head coach overall. He is still learning to be a head coach, and I believe with experience he will ultimately be more selective in his battles. IMO Krysko is going to have a great coaching career, and I would be thrilled if it were all at UM.

The weird thing on those pictures is that the poster boy for Griz Punk play Matt Martin looks like the peace maker!!!!

I think the earth just, shifted 2 degrees of its axis

Mcat, you dislike good, hard-nosed aggressive play? Because that's all you get out of MM. I think this board is pasted with posts that say that Cat fans would love to see more of that from their team.

I don't have any problems with people disliking the Griz. In fact, I can understand it. But I do have issues with people incorrectly blaming the Griz for crap that was none of their doing. This whole incident was unequevicably incited by the thugs at PSU. Again, not a popular idea on this board, I realize. But I can't help you with that. Perhaps I could suggest a counselor?

Perhaps you could notice that the person who posted the first pic was from ISU and also notice that most everyone on this thread have posted about toeing the line, wanting some fire like the Griz or have been Griz fans themselves. Before you start to chastize Cat fans for hating on the Griz, read the thread. I for one would love to see the Cats show a pulse, yet alone some fire like the Griz have been having lately. It was a tough loss for the Griz and a black eye in several different areas for PSU athletics. Just my .02.

I can't help but think how much fun it would be to write a script to set to the two pictures posted above. Talk about smack heaven. Of course, that would go on the smack board, and not here.

Krysko looks out of control in those photos. What the heck is he trying to prove there?

I just lost A LOT of respect for him. He seems like the stereotypical poor loser.

I personally respect a coach who will stick up for his players. It sounds like the PSU players where the ones at fault...mainly since the Big Sky Officials never do anything wrong.

The great part about those photos is seeing the fact that the PSU students stormed the court after the game. It is a sad day when you get so excited about beating the 2nd place team in your conference.

You just lost respect for a guy based on how he looks in a photograph? That's cool.

He is a coach for the Griz, what would you expect?
