I don't know how many of you follow hockey, but is anyone watching the game today vs. Latvia? Does anyone know why the hell John Graham is our starting goalie? It either needs to be Robert Esche or Rick DiPietro. I would vote for Esche.
Graham just let in another goal. F him.

I have only followed hockey with a the passing of interests since they moved by beloved North Stars to Dallas. I did, however, hear Melrose say that he didn't think that USA would medal this year. Is that true?

From what little I have heard and read, that is true. Any medal would probably be overachieving for Team USA.

Nothing more than a bronze is what I expect.

The reason I heard is that Laviollette wanted "stability" in goal. If this a-hole was worried about stability he would have left any of these douchebags home and brought Tim Thomas....probably the hottest goalie in the league at this point and, oh yeah, tons of international experience

We just tied it up 3-3.

He didn't want the best players, he wanted the right players.

John Graham is not the right goalie for this team. I believe Esche is.

I'm not sure how Thomas got left off. He's certainly not a marquee player, like esche or DiPietro, but played most of his career on the international stage (Sweden I believe). It would seem to me he would be obvious especially over Grahame who (excuse the pun) has stunk on ice all year long

Damn, we can't buy a goal. We've got about 1000 shots on goal and none of them are going in. Very frusterating.

USA - 3
Latvija - 3
Tie game, upset for the U.S. Hopefully they play better tomorrow. I heard the players didn't even arrive until yesterday because of the weather on the east coast. I pray they get into it and play up a bit.

3-0 USA in the first....It looks like DiPietro wants to play goalie in the medal round

4-1 in the 3rd. Looks like the goalie was getting bored and let one slip in

Team USA =
Had 34 chances today vs. 12 for Russia and still managed to lose 5-4 thanks to terrible defense. They still managed to sneak into the Quarterfinals and will play Finland. A couple other great matchups with Canada vs. Russia and Czech Republic vs. Slovakia.
