Good gracious Colter Nuanez saying the Gris having their biggest win since they beat the Bobcats some years ago. Blah blah blah neither of those teams are worth much. Idaho should roll. My guess Idaho 32 gris 13. Idaho gets the Big Brown Stain.

Well, if he was talking regular-season only, then it probably IS their biggest win since Cat griz 2021. They beat nobody with a winning record last season and all their wins this season are against bad FCS teams and a D2 team.

Yes, he was talking regular season and I agree it’s a “signature” win as Colter put it. Just rather amusing to me how giddy Colter and Grizzly voice Corcoran appeared. That’s the kind of signature that appears on an overdraft!

Davis is currently 3-3 with wins over TX A&M Commerce, Southern Utah and Cal Poly. I will be surprised if the finish better than 5-6, I think 4-7 is a lot more likely.

I think Riley is quick to point out how underrated NAU was when they played them, but in turn it must be pointed out how overrated UC Davis is probably going to be this year.

The most surprising thing to me about this upcoming game, is how many Griz fans are saying Idaho is going to thump them. I thought for sure Griz Nation would be back to their cocky ways after last weekend, assuming the Griz are now RTD. Nope - I guess they are seeing that the Griz probably just aren't very good this year. Last I checked over on the egriz prediction thread, well over half the predictors are saying the Griz lose.

The one I work with all think they are going to lose, they pretty much became aware after the NAU loss how bad they are this year, the last 2 games have not given them a warm fuzzy feeling.

Yep. Credit where credit is due tho... they actually surprised me by going into UCD and getting the win, and they actually dominated them pretty good. I know UCD isn't looking as good as expected, but still pretty impressive UM went in and got it done. All told, I agree, just don't think they have the talent to keep up with an Idaho team, or an MSU team, etc. Hope I'm not surprised again come Saturday night.

The guys I am talking with are pinning playoff hopes on being able t beat Sac at home, the fly in the ointment is playing PSU in Hillsboro, they need wins against UNC and PSU in addition to SAC to make the playoffs.
The three most knowledgeable fans here all think the playoffs are unlikely, I'm actually more optimistic on their chances of pulling it off.

Two ways this game can go. Idaho demolishes the gris. Proves the spuds are legit. gris keep it close, proves they are both a level down from the Bobcats.

Yep, me too. I see it being a two score game, somewhere in the range of 10-14 points, but it certainly wouldn't shock me if the margin was slightly more than that even. They aren't as bad as they looked against NAU, but I don't think they're any better than just a middle of the pack team in the BSC, with a fairly large group including UCD, WSU, EWU, PSU and NAU.

I have my doubts about how much "bulletin board material" matters for good teams. I think good teams don't need external motivation as much as bad or mediocre teams. HOWEVER, I'd imagine Idaho isn't happy with what Hauck said about last year's game: "They made a total of 2 plays on offense"...and later was pressed on it by someone asking about all the passing yards McCoy had--to which he replied, "Passing yards are empty calories". Is he dumb enough to say that without thinking? If not, is he dumb enough to think that's a good thing to say? Or is he so brilliant that this is going to pay off?

I think we can rule out the brilliant part.

I think we can too. I was just trying to consider all possibilities, even the really bad ones.

I am thinking that McCoy and company will do some damage to the gris secondary which will open up the run game...

I just honestly see this one getting away from the griz. They’ll come in fired up, maybe hit a few big plays with Bergen, but it’s in Idaho on ESPN2 and I think they’re here to prove they are a legit seed worthy team and want to take it to their oldest rival. I’ll take the over on that 7.5 pt spread.

According to some gris fans, UM’s backs and o-linemen are better than the Bobcats’ backs and linemen (apparently, Gilman is better than any Bobcat RB). If that’s the case, the gris should be able to run for enough yardage to win, right?
