New DC and DL coaches at UM
I can’t think of anyone who might be candidates for those spots. Gregorak???

Those retirements have been known for at least a few weeks now. Unfortunately it takes our sports media forever to get out any valuable information. Sounds like Coach Bradford will be the new DC. Cooper is moving to linebackers. They will be hiring a DL and safeties coach

I'm really hoping the griz, don't change anything, on the offensive side of the ball. Don't mess with perfection.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Roger Cooper move from Safeties to LB or DL coach. Also wouldn't be surprised to see their assoc. head coach (Ronnie Bradford) move to DC. I've also heard some talk about Tim Hauck coming in, but that happens pretty much every time there's an open defensive coaching position at UM.

Ha....I pretty much nailed it. Also, wasn't there an analyst with DB background? Possibly take Cooper's spot?HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:05 pmSee abovewbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:38 amWouldn't be surprised to see Roger Cooper move from Safeties to LB or DL coach. When I heard something about bare sacks and the UM football team, my thoughts went straight to another inappropriate conduct-type deal involving players. Had no idea it was about Baer and Sacks retiring.

Yes Kim Mccloud from Hawaii was a corners coach. His previous stops were Syracuse, Idaho, Nevada, and Baylor. Was a DC at a couple spots too. I could see him sliding into that safeties spot.wbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:08 pmHa....I pretty much nailed it. Also, wasn't there an analyst with DB background? Re: New DC and DL coaches at UM
It’ll be tough to replace those names. Sacks had to be the most perfect name ever for a DL coach, and anytime you can get a Baer to coach grissly bears it’s a good deal. Where our Katz?
I agree — baer sacks does sound a little sketchy. Sort of nostalgic to see the defensive band breaking up as they’ve been pretty kind to our running game.

Shhh — Coop (and Rovig) are deep under-cover Bobcats. When we get a few more we’ll be set.

Just think, as safeties coach he may have had a hand in inflating Robby’s tackle count and erasing Kane from the record books.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 12:19 pmStill drives me nuts Coop is over there.wbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:08 pmHa....I pretty much nailed it. You really think the assistants are doing the official tackle stats? Ronnie Hamlin erased Ione from the record book in 2014.Cledus wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 7:58 pmJust think, as safeties coach he may have had a hand in inflating Robby’s tackle count and erasing Kane from the record books.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 12:19 pmStill drives me nuts Coop is over there.wbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:08 pmHa....I pretty much nailed it. Cooper enters his second season coaching the Griz in 2023 after 10 years at Idaho State, where he most recently served as the Bengals' associate head coach, defensive coordinator, and linebackers coach. Cooper coached UM's safeties in 2022.
As a player, Cooper was a linebacker at Montana State who earned first-team All-Big Sky honors in three-straight seasons (2002-2004) and was named the Big Sky defensive MVP in 2004. He was also a second-team All-American and a starter on an MSU defense that helped snap Montana's 16-game win streak in 2002.
I find it interesting the Hauck hired a former Bobcat player to his staff.

Re: New DC and DL coaches at UM
MSU has had a lot of good linebackers but it seems like Cooper really got the ball rolling at the LB slots. And they just keep getting better. I don’t want to start listing them off because I’m sure I’ll skip over a few. But I can’t resist…ilovethecats wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 12:19 pmStill drives me nuts Coop is over there.wbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 2:08 pmHa....I pretty much nailed it. Bobby's over there trying to shine dog turds. Switching one old turd, for another, is still a turd. Nothing like him getting the old turd band back together. Lucky for us, they still don't have their s-h-i-t together. LOL

Holy smokes. Apparently, if you haven't coached or played at dUMb at some point, you aren't qualified be an offensive coach there. Hello nepotism!coloradocat wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 11:02 amhttps://406mtsports.com/college/big-sky ... 08782.html
