Sam Huard to Cal Poly

Post by CelticCat » Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:36 am

Looks like the former 5 star recruit and newphew of Brock Huard is transferring to Cal Poly from what I'm hearing. Will be a sophomore.

I guess Wulff just hired his high school coach to the staff which what may have prompted the decision.

Wow, good get for Wulff. Poly won't stay down for long, I see them as a perennial contender in the BSC going forward.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Maybe in 2-3 years. They were pretty terrible this year, they had almost nothing on the defensive side of the ball. Its gonna take some time to rebuild that before they are a true conference contender IMO.

Everyone (myself included) said the same thing when they hired Beau Baldwin, but it just never happened. They might have had one of the worst defenses I've ever seen last year, until they get that fixed all the offensive talent in the world won't help them.

Yeah, I didn't mean right away, but Wulff is a proven coach in the BSC. I think he'll build the program up right.

I really think Baldwin would have as well, but he was only there for 2 seasons (not counting the spring 2021 season). It was going to be difficult for anyone to switch that program over from the triple option.
