Looks like Beau Baldwin is headed to Arizona State as the OC.

So does that mean cal poly starts to use the triple option?

So the 3 cellar dwellers of the BSC (CP, ISU, and UNC) are all in rebuilding mode again. I don't have expectations of improvement any time soon.

Ugh, that sucks for CPSLO and the BSC as a whole. He would have made them really good in a few years time. Hoping they get a good hire. The New Madden facility should help lure a good coach.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Too bad, was hoping that Baldwin would be able to get that program going again. They had some talent on offense but on the defensive side of the ball, yikes. At least this is a far more desirable job than ISU or UNCU so they should be able to attract some good candidates.

Oops. Just 2. They don't play Cal poly, but they travel to Dixie state. That's a 50/50.

I think this is a great move for Coach Baldwin. He will be working under a head coach who is also very offense oriented.

I am not sure I buy the storyline that given time Beau Baldwin would have Cal Poly at the top of the BSC. I understand that he was transitioning the offense but that does not explain the defensive struggles. He had three seasons to work on that.

It’s not like the defense was stellar when he was at EWU.

Ouch....
I remember during the broadcast for Cal Poly the commentators saying how Baldwin was just on the verge of building something but it was gonna take some time. Sucks for Cal Poly...head coaching changes at this level are hard to endure. It's hard to remember any first year coach in the Big Sky having any real success.

I can think of a first-year Big Sky coach who had a whole lot of success, but he inherited a hell of a lot more talent than Cal Poly has.

Is this sarcastic?
Troy Taylor, Jason Eck and Vigen off the top of my head from just the last couple years had success right away.

I get that’s not the norm and the situations are different, but the point is, it’s happened multiple times in very recent memory.

Sac State was 0-7 in Conference & 1-8 overall in 2018. Troy Taylor took over in 2019 & is 23-1 in conference in the 3 seasons since he took over.

I'd also point to Jason Eck at Idaho.

Vigen took a second round out playoff team to the chipper.

Yeah, was mostly talking about Vigen, but I DID space the other two. I guess I didn't realize they were first year guys. Anyhow, the guy next in line at Cal Poly likely has his work cut out for him. BSC is murderer's row.
