I'd kind of like to see and hear those too. For the record, if you listen real closely Bobby says eff off at least once in every presser he does. Sometimes you have to read his lips because he just mouths it without making any sound.

Bobby has no obligation to be friendly to the media. Nick Saban, Bill Belichick and Greg Popovich are all absolute pricks to the media. But they're all legends--some of the best to ever do it in their fields. I think the difference is that college coaches have to recruit and fundraise, and so they have to be politicians a little bit. Absolutely it's an act. He could get away with it the first time in Missoula because of how much they were winning, and now he knows this is probably his last stop and UM isn't going to fire a guy who's a year away from becoming the all time Big Sky wins leader. It really makes you appreciate guys like Choate and Vigen, who have wildly different personalities but actually engage with the media respectfully in their own ways.

Everything I heard was that Bobby was meddling in the process and didn't like Welnel as the pick. Plenty of people speculated he wanted his son to wear it. That's according to lots of gris fans. Regardless of what's true and what's rumor, it's clear he was trying to influence who wore 37, and that's not his job. To me it shows he's not a fan of leading a player-run team, and that's what most players want these days. We can have a discussion on whether that's right or not, but it's reality.
