His former college roommate was Kalen DeBoer who was named the head coach at Fresno State in 2020. Morrell left Tech to join his staff. Fresno wins 12 games in 2021 while UW hits rock bottom. DeBoer then gets the UW position and brings Morrell along as co-DC. Pretty amazing chain of events.

Shoot Fresno State is probably a better job right now, UW has some serious problems.
