It's time for SUU to seriously consider dropping down to division II. It can partner up with Dixie State (which already has more students than SUU), and a rivalry will be born. Join the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and travel is made easier with trips to St. George, Grand Junction, CO, Durango, CO, Las Vegas, NM, and so on.

I want to see more I-AA football schools in the west, but SUU doesn't want to do it at the required financial levels deemed necessary. It doesn't help that it is so remote, either, and nobody really wants them in a conference.

So is this just the same type of talk we hear from writers here in Bozeman and Missoula? Namely the fanbase and/or sports writers would really like to add the Dakotas but the Conference and its schools aren't really serious about it, or is there some real interest from the Mid-Con and it's members?

No smack or anything, I am really wondering as I am not at all informed about the Mid-Con and it's membership.
