Ryan Kelley who was an outstanding quarterback at Basha High School, one of Chandler, AZ powerhouse high school programs has transferred from ASU to EWU. He was injured early in his college career and comes to the eags as a rare "graduate student" with three years of eligibility.
Looks to me like Eastern plans to play football for a while.

So he is going to get a graduate degree at ewu. Just curious how long does it take to get a graduate degree? I guess maybe depends on the subject matter?

At EWU I'm guessing a few weeks.

Do they have graduate programs?

I think they just call any major someone actually graduates from a "graduate program".

Was I not clear when I said "rare"?

So it looks like he left ASU in January of 2019? What did he do in Fall of 2019 and Fall of 2020?
Also, it looks like he signed in spring of 2017, so his clock would have started 4 years ago: 2017 (redshirt?), 2018 (fr), 2019 (so), 2020 (jr-Covid), 2021 (rs/covid Jr).
Am I doing the math correctly?

He might have received a medical redshirt as well.

However you do the math, that's what the news article said.
